t5 bulbs too blue?

I just picked these up off of craigslist for 50 bucks a piece. Im having a hard time removing the clear plastic off the reflectors because the guy obviously ran the lights with it on the whole time he had them. Thats prob number one. Right now I just cleaned the bulbs up and are running them to warm up the plastic to see if that makes it easier to pull it off, otherwise it just keeps shredding. My main concern is the lights, they are ch lighting 54w blue lux coral. Do i need to replace these with white? Any help appreciated....





I have two of these they are 4ft by 4 bulb

i would keep one in the setup cause i wont hurt i imagine your using this for veg? i would get a 10000k bulb and x2 6500k or 5000k(florasun) for the other 3 slots tho, that much actinic blue is no good to veg with.


good buy for 50$ been looking for some deals like that myself... people around here seem to think their shit is gold on CL

Ha, tell me about it.... This guy pretty much told me he was calling it quits, he had a 1k ballast cooltube and light for 140, he also had some bigger tents for 40 and 75 bucks, guess he was trying to get it sold. But yes these will be for veg. I seen them for 50 and said screw it ill take both even though I only need one for my setup. So I want to get rid of the bulbs than huh? Thats fine them things were giving me a headache looking at them while i was trying to remove that protective plastic. Thanks again for the reply!

yep no prob if i was you i would pick up the tents if they where for a good price and brand. cause you can always move a tent with you, a room you can not.

I was thinking about it but this guy lives 35 minutes away. He had a 4x4 with a broken zipper for 40 and a 6x6x7 for 75. I would have taken everything he had but I have been buying so much shit lately I have to skow down for a second, depleting the bank account!

Wow talk about a pain in the ass! I finally removed the plastic off the reflector with a blow dryer to the back of the reflector. It finally came off in one piece.
