im not tryn to sell these lights jus want an opinion on the fluorogrow t5's from fluorogrow.com, has any one used them or heard anything about them, can't find any reviews for them and they're fairly cheap especially with the 10% discount code. i was looking at the 4ft 8tube premium or 2 of the 4ft 4 tubes basics, any help would be appreciated

The ones at home depot work just fine for clones and mothers. I keep 6 clones 2 veggies and mom under 4 35w t5's. It does the job, good as any. anyone who is trying to sell you "premium" florescent lights is ripping you off.

i was actually tryn to do my first grow using t5's all the way through, should have mentioned that my bad, but if you look at the premium lights they actually use the same ballast as the badboy t5's which is why i was interested in them an on top of that they are a lot cheaper than any others i have seen.

they're still the same. there isn't anything special about them. but uh... i'm probably wasting my time 'cause you actually think growing from start to finish with t5's is a good idea too.

Alright guys im gonna say this one more time...
T5's kick ass for all phazes... sure the home depot T5's will work good for veg, but if you plan on flowering with them then I would invest in an actual "GROW" hood prefferably the 8 lamp. they are way more reflective and the lamps themselves have the right spectrum for flowering..
also to stay one step ahead of the the rest of cfl growers try the dutch master liquid light and penetrator.. In one word Magical!

I grow with T5's and have good success, as far as those you buy at home depot, they don't have the right spectrum. You're better off going on line and buy them from a hydroponic store, they come with 6500K lamps for veg and then purchase 3000K for bloom. Make sure it's the HO ( high output )type.

i'm working on deciding between the fluorogrow and the quantum badboy...may go with one of each...my only concern is heat dissipation with the fluorogrow--its an enclosed back "so no debris gets in"....the only thing i'm concerned about with the badboy is its construction:: some complaints in 2k10/11 about flimsiness and some issues with it not being assembled correctly/you having to assemble and wire it...not sure if those issues are still going on because it gets glowing reviews now...of course, to save some cash i could see it as a viable option to get the fluorogrow fixtures and if they run too hot, drill some holes along the back of the housing

While I wont end up with a unit off 12 plants like my friend does with HPS, I can however yield 5oz wet off 2 plants with my t5, and keep my OUTDOOR, no a/c shed in the high 80s rather than having them hot the low 100's with a HPS.

Growing for profit would be pointless under t5, yes. Growing personal medicine, or for a hobby under select circumstances it definitely has it's advantages.

My first grow of 2 plants yielded about 2 oz wet. My second grow of 2 plants, with new nutrients, new training of the plants, and using what I LEARNED from the first grow yielded 5 oz wet.

You will never have a perfect grow on your first go round.
