What in your opinions would you say are the two MOST important things to remember when cloning.

And also in your opinion, if you follow these two rules how long will it take to get them to root?

Keep in mind conventional methods only please, as i do not have access to a aerocloner.

Take the clipping, but it in water in a dark container of some sort and set it in a window sill that gets no direct sunlight. This is by far the eaisest method.

definetley remember humidity
and the rooting hormone you use
you probably cant even get a clone to grow without rooting hormones

glad to help :)

well thats what i thought, but ive had about 20 clones in rockwool for about 6 days and i broke one open and there is no sign of roots. I have done everything correctly that i can think of, humidity is in check i used root powder, water is phd at 5.5-6.5 they are just turning yellow and wilting. i dont know what i did wrong, or what i would do different next time. oh well.

yea you can,
keep em alive in water cups and in about 1-2 weeks you should see little white things sticking out(beginning of roots)
this is not a really good method as it takes forever
i discovered this today becuase previously i had taken cuttings, just to allow main bud sites to grow and dunked them inwater and forgot about them
2 weeks later they had mini roots, so....
yea!:hump:

thanks guys. this is my first attempt at cloning and i guess im just being impatient. I guess all the tales of 3-7 days are bogus then?

Im not sure about using hormones... I know they work alot quicker though. But. whats a few days?

for every plant you want make 3 clones. the strongest of 3 is the chosen one.
so if you want 4 plants 12 clones. If you want 10 plants make 30 clones. Cause shit happens and you wont worry as much

it can take as long as 3 weak and as short as 3 days but for this you nead evrything perfect and you must have a heating pad for roots... they love warmer tempetures when they are young

I have taken several clones using different methods just to see what works best for me. I split the stem on some and they all had much more roots a lot faster than the other ways I tried.

I was taught by a person that supplies clones to medical clubs in the bay area to:

Take rockwool cubes and soak them in a ph'ed solution with rooting hormone added then take the cuttings and stick them in the cube, put the cubes on a mesh tray that sits an inch or so above a tray of pure water, stick that whole thing on a heat mat and you're gold.

This guy has been straight cloning for 4 years, hasn't even flowered one since. He also said he noticed no difference with using a humidity dome, but I think his heat mat thing does that job. I have yet to clone a cannabis plant, but I trust what he does.

go to you tube and watch a series of films[3] i think called "a growers lot"this guy is the most brutal sativa cloner ever someone even said they were waiting for the guy to gnaw off the clones.if sativa clones can handle this brutalality than indicas are a breeze.for me id say its the hormone, tryed rootone and other powders.but found clonex gel to be the best.and like big bud balls said spray them with distilled water every time you go by them.watch the movies.then watch i grow chronic.green man will show you how he does it.peace
