Tall Grass Stretching Plants

Howdie. This summer I'm growing in an open grassy field. The grass grows quite tall, but I put the plants out when they were the same height as the grass. They're about the same height now, and all my plants look really stretched. Will regular grass be thick enough to block a significant amount of light for plants? Do you think I should cut some grass around my plants, even though I've been trying to avoid the whole "garden" look?
Cheers,

Yes. Not only will the grass shade your plants it also takes nutes and water from your hole, the grassroots spread sideways. Best thing u can do is get a machete and go to work every 2 weeks.
