Tap Water Grow

Why not use tap water?Here are my girls The 1 at the bottom of pic is Tap Water Bubbleponics! 6wks 125w CFL in a tent. They all get 2-3 day old tap water. How do they look too you????? Anyone else using tap water ? Speak up it's ok LOL!!

If your tap water is decent quality, theres nothing wrong with using it. I'd guess and say the majority of indoor growers are using their home tapwater

Tap water usually works great, just don't use organic food or beneficial bacteria.

I wish I had a damn SD card....
I've been using tap water, organic nutes and beneficial bacteria from the start and my plants look great. Not even yellow spots.
It's all a matter of balancing out the micro nutes.

I use tap water and it works fine. I let it sit out for two days with an air stone in it. Also my water dept don't add flouride to my water and when I fill up my buckets I use hot water to help speed up the chlorine evaporation. I guess it all depends on where you get your water. Here is a pic of a Royal Dwarf that has a few days left.

I've been using Tap Water, ..and my plants are boomin.. I would invest in a reverse osmosis machine, but why should I?? Tap Water Works.. I think I'm going to set up a rain catcher tank in the garden

i use tap water but i have a thing on my mains that removes impurities from then water the ph is about 6.4 with nutes its 6.6

tap water is pretty good really

Depends where you are really - whats in it lols.. probally be better boiling the water, storing for few days then using it?

easier said then done, especially if you dont have a garden of course.. and/or if you dont live in particularly wet part of the world.. but setting up a small rain collection tank in your yard seems like a pretty simple idea, maybe uneffective or unreliable.. but better than tap water.. Im from wales, and I have no idea whats in the water main, I know theres small amount of fluoride & copper... I would like to get a reverse osmosis machine but they look expensive... but there are alternative such as basic 'Brita' Water Filters, they are pretty cheap and a worthwhile investment.. It not just what the effect of giving impure water to your plants is, your nutrients are also effected when feeding your plants.. they tend to lose effectivity, or even react.. Copper Fluoride Nirtrogen Phosphorus Potassium.. sounds like a mad experiment.

Before you had any type of testing didn't you use tap water?

I use tap water too. my water is very clean so i have had no problems

In my area tap water is 450ppm , basically the issue there is you can't add the proper nutes to it early on cause you'd be giving a clone 800ppm+ once you add nutes to that strong of water. If you start with distilled you can get a nice batch of nutes in it and stay around 300-400ppm. If you tap is 200ppm then you'd be golden really. After I run my tap through my RO it comes out at 160ppm which is close to spring water quality

Like I said earlier, Ive never tested anything nor do I have any idea what the PPM's are. I'm just trying to complete a grow using straight Tap Water. Maybe the next grow I'll get into the different testing of things.

Once your grow medium runs out of mutes your plants will suffer... Assuming its in a fox farm like medium that will come sooner then you think. Adding a beenie tea and some notes will help your plants thrive and not only live but your yields will be much greater... Isn't that why you grow, for yield?
