Techniques for Germinating Seeds

I'm sure this is a redundant question but I have searched and searched and can't seem to find the answer that I'm looking for.

About a month ago, I had asked for some advice on germinating seeds and I had got one answer (I think it was from a girl) that really interested me but now I can't find it.

The reply was something about putting the seeds in the freezer for a day (acting as a winter period for the seeds) then to put them in warm water (not hot) until they get puffy, then to put them in wet paper towels. At least I think that is what was said. I don't remember all the details but I really want to try this method.

Anyone have any elaboration on this such as how many days to do each step, etc.? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you don't need to worry about the freezer, its not necessary. what i did was just stick em in a wet paper towel and put them on the warm spot on my computer (in a bowl of course). just make sure the paper towel doesn't dry up or they'll die. i've gotten 18 out of 20 to germinate this way over the years.

I think you've got it right so far. Just remember when you get to the stage of putting the seeds in a napkin not to over water them. this can cause rotting in the seeds and they will be NO good. Also house the napkins in a dark place I put them in a glad ware container and locked it in so that no air could get in our out. Remember a dark place this is vital.

i use paper towels and two plates; one upside down on top of the other to create a humidity dome, keeping the towel from drying.

too much water doesn't cause rot. its the environment the seeds are in that will cause them to rot.

All I know is my bud taste great and thats all that ever matters to me. Its a forum full of different opinions so stop judging and being a downer we're all friends here or else supposed to be.

gotta learn what works best for you homie...... try all the ways out that you know and whichever you think is the best.......... do it........ i just put like 10 seeds into a paper towel... fold it in half covering the seeds. then place it flat into a ziploc bag... then slide it under my comp to keep them warm and dark....
