Just got the following email from the Coalition for Responsible Cannabis Legislation.

I'll paste their suggested comment guide in the next post. Its quite impressive, very specific in its wording and well-referenced re: regulation numbers. That will help the board address issues efficiently as they're moving on a tight deadline now.

They also ask that you choose an issue/issues that are relevant to you, cite it, then offer your improvements. But they ask you to use your own words, and do not cut and paste.

Hello all,

We only have 10 more days to get your written comments in to the board! Please do so asap so they have time to collate them for the board's review. I've attached the suggested comment guide again for your use.

Remember that the board only has ONE DAY to try to get through as many amended regulations as possible. Because of this, we have focused on the big ones that have the potential to make or break the industry. There are plenty of smaller items that we would also like to see changed, and those will happen with time, but are not a productive use of our energy right now.

Please remember that you should:
  • Site the regulation and then talk about it.
  • Copy and paste or rewrite into your own words one or a few of the listed comments given after each regulation listed. I wrote the same thing in many different ways so if everyone picks a different combination of sentences, it will seem like you all wrote your own comments from scratch.
  • Choose the topics that concern you. That may be only one or it may be all 13. Whatever you have time for is great, but the most important thing is to participate in some way!
  • Be respectful and productive in your comments. You get more flies with honey than with vinegar. If you have a better way of doing something, please write out how you would like the regulation to read. The less work for them (remember there's only one day) means the more likely it is to go through.
Do not:
  • Copy and paste the entire thing since some comments contradict each other. These were written in an attempt to represent many different potential opinions on some of these topics without showing complete bias toward one agenda. Pick and choose what speaks to you.
  • Be nasty. Again, positive speaking points are always better received than negative ones.
Thank you so much everyone for your time! This is the last one for a while!
