That's awesome, love the little 3d printed frame/nacelles. I've been out for a while. At my last job there was maybe 6-10 of us on any given lunchbreak flying around, was such a good time. About as close as I get now is a little bluerov2, but it's just collecting dust on the shelf.

Oh yeah I see some familiar stuff in there, I have the B6AC charger, and I see you have some of those super high discharge packs 90c or whatever it is, those are great. I've used them to power spot welders.
Racing quads have high amp demands, 100 C plus for many, an 8 to one thrust to lift ratio is the starting point. 3S is entry and 6S is popular now a days. Also the sub 250 gram class is becoming popular because of licensing requirements and some small quads and planes have amazing performance and endurance. Ya gotta be a bit of a nerd though.

I've flown a few small quads here and there and my brain just doesn't seem to click with them like ailerons and elevators. Still, if we end up moving overseas, I'd almost certainly get something like a Phantom.

A racing quad in acro mode is like balancing a broomstick on yer finger, it takes skill to fly, unlike most DJI drones that you remote control with auto level etc.

there was another story of a tesla battery bank that took 150 firefighters 4 days to put out a few days ago.

what's an ice auto btw?
Gasoline has 100 times more energy that lithium ion batteries, they are discreetly packaged in steel cases so they probably pop off one or a few at a time during a fire. The electrolyte they use is flammable and so is lithium, but there is 100 times less energy involved than with an equal volume of gas. A typical small car gas tank holds around 40 to 50 liters, say 10 to 15 gallons, but a battery pack in a tesla is many times that volume (just the batteries).

Tesla, the global leader in electric cars, was excluded from the White House event Thursday where US President Joe Biden unveiled a big push for zero-emissions vehicles.

"Yeah, seems odd that Tesla wasn't invited," Elon Musk tweeted about the event that featured legacy American carmakers General Motors, Ford and Chrysler's parent company Stellantis.

The irascible entrepreneur has been a pacesetter in the industry, and Tesla last month reported its first-ever quarterly profit above $1 billion on record deliveries.

But he also has a rocky record in relations with workers at his factories, including firing a union organizer and tweeting anti-union comments, which lead to a lawsuit by the United Auto Workers labor group.

Asked whether the snub was related to Tesla's non-union status, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters the invited companies "are the three largest key players of the United Auto Workers. So I'll let you draw your own conclusion."

But she said the Biden administration welcomes the efforts of all manufacturers working on electric vehicles, including Tesla.

"I would not expect this is the last time we talked about clean cars, the move for electric vehicles, and we look forward to having a range of partners in that effort," Psaki said.

Interviewed on CNBC, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said he did not know why Tesla was excluded.

Musk responded by sharing a meme that read: "I'm not saying it's sabotage. But it's sabotage."

Another battery technology that will be used in EVs along with Lithium Iron Phosphate and lithium ion electro chemistries. There's also aluminum ion battery technology for EVs that offer potential low costs and long life. Iron air batteries along with sodium and LFP will likely be used for grid storage too. Economical effective energy storage for renewable energy and EVs is coming soon. When batteries are cheap, EVs will be cheaper to produce than ICE vehicles, with a much lower part count and far fewer moving parts, or leaking fluids like coolant, oil and fuel.
