While I'll agree with your post this is good to see money spent on infrastructure, and it also improves the entire rail system in that part of the country.

Anyways, if that's aimed at Perry, then good for you.

Summing up: The figures from our sources show two different trends. On an annual basis between 1981 and 2003, Texas almost always paid more in federal taxes than it got back from Uncle Sam. But since 2003 the reverse has been true, with Texas receiving more than it paid in five out of seven years, which is close to routine.

stolen???

congress has the power to levy taxes. there's an ammendment to the constitution that ratifies that right.

you may not agree with it, then embark on a passionate quest to repeal it. you won't be the first to fail.

So your all for the Free market and Support Ron Paul Who thinks Corporations can do what ever they want

Yet you Blame the Black President for "allowing" GE to move to China?

What exactly do you want Obama to DO about GE moving Jobs to China?

GE's decision to Move to China has nothing to do with Labor, taxes, or the U.S. Goverment and more to do with their Belief that China will be a major market

I saw a chart that went back ~20 years. From what I recall Texas is usually around a couple pennies either way on money received. Even when there was natural disaster the numbers didnt move as much as I thought they would. I would think it goes way up. Maybe the population size spreads out the costs? dunno

Not the one I originally saw but here's a chart showing Texas receiving less than they paid in every year but that can't be right can it. It has all the states. It goes thru 2005.

Don't be a lemming. The Feds do it because they can, not because it's constitutional. Look up the reasons for taxes and the enumerated use.
There are 18 privileges we extended to congress. Build an Army and Navy are. Post offices is another. Where does it say the use is for specific welfare? General welfare means everyone.

you don't understand what we were founded on, embark on a passionate quest to inform yourself, you won't be the first to fail to understand it either. property rights and privileges are two different things.

Texas receives about 95 cents in federal spending for every dollar they pay in. They deserve to get back everything they can. While one might disagree with and protest the process, we still live in a real world where we can't afford to give the federal government everything and take nothing in return.

An individual who is forced, by threat of death, to pay taxes, if he is due a refund, is he wrong to accept it?
The only difference I see is that the individual can spend his tax "overpayment", any way he wants, while Texas is told what the Federal government is going to spend it on.
