I reserve the right to protect myself and my family.

You want to give up your right to do this and place it on a government official. I am not against you doing that, I am against you taking away my right to protect myself.

There will never be a time when we agree on this issue.

I mean, think about it. Wouldn't a plain-clothes man with a big long gun in Target kinda scare you in this day and age?
Long guns have a very slow draw, whereas an open carried pistola has a very quick draw, especially if I'm doing the drawing. So, the answer to your question is no, I wouldn't be scared at all.

Now let that woman take that weapon into Wal Mart, where people see her and have no idea whether or not she knows how to be safe with her lethal weapon, or maybe she's a just-born serial killer, and can't you see how that might create a natural problem here in the USA?
I live in Phoenix. That woman does too. Hundreds of her and Her husband. They go to Wal Mart all the time here. It isnt an everyday occurence but I would say somewhere between 1 in 200 and 1 in 1000 people carry in Wal Mart.

The gun isnt the problem, it is the intent of the person with the gun. In the case of the people I have seen their purpose was to buy their groceries peacefully and go about their day.

Makes me feel safer personally.

funny...still does not take away from blow joe getting his open carry gun took
So what?

I reserve MY right...

Pointing out that there are idiots or circumstances where having a gun is not 100% sure to make you safe is not an argument to remove my ability to protect MYSELF.

You can give up your right, I am not asking for you to be safe or in control, I am only reserving it for myself.

sure I agree you most certainly do have that right to carry. Might I suggest keeping it concealed.

Concealing your weapon under clothing when you don't have to, makes as much sense as storing your ammunition separately from your weapon. Trigger guards are just as foolish. Guns should be loaded and left in easily accessible locations on your person and in your home. To do otherwise is to think like a liberal idiot.

easIER solution: don't let the fuckers carry a deadly toy around their waist for everyone to see. Let them get their self esteem from something other than the fact that they could kill someone with so little effort in a split second, intentional or not.
Do you live in Texas ? Especially southern Texas right now ?

You seem highly against citizens who pass background checks carrying a pistol , citizens who have never had a felony & dont have any outstanding legal issues , not even a restraining order in their lifetime , those are the citizens you think are most likely to play Wyatt Earp quick draw , not the vast criminal element who allready carry illegal guns , or the huge numbers of gang members carrying , or the cartel runners who out gun the police , or the coyotes who run illegals thru citizens farms .

My baby brother owns a trucking company based in southern texas & they have a huge problem with armed illegals on the property after dark , its got so bad he cant run loads & has to stay home so his wife dont run across some vato with a throw away pointed at her when she's letting her 5lb dog out , not running loads is destroying his retirement plan as well .

Fuk her & other law abiding citizens though & let them live in fear , all in favor of some moronic people being afraid when they see a non concealed weapon , only an idiot would be afraid , its the assholes with guns hidden that kill people , statistics up the ass prove the point .

I live in an open carry state & since adopting the law citizens have not run buck wild like your trying to say .

Your posts are a classic case of fear mongering .

We used to have a permit requirement for concealed carry and now that has been done away with as well. If I were going to carry for some reason I would probably open carry. I dont carry right now because as the law stands you have to be in fear of and defending your life to use a firearm. I have not been and do not see myself in that position during the course of my job. However, if there were a particular circumstance I would not hesitate to carry.
