Yea, I had heard some people didn't think things were up to snuff that year, but I still had beans from the year before from right at the end of 2011. Those lasted me a few grows since I cloned the next batch, so I never got any of the bad experiences some people say they had.
These beans have been good so far, good germ, take full strength nutes. I got them 2 months or so ago. 2/2 sprouted and a saved the others, I'm pretty frugal about sprouting my beans. Growth wise one is real bushy the other is more taller, they should be showing sex in the next week or so. They still have another 2 weeks to go till flower, and ill be taking clones right around that time.
Fingers crossed I get two females!

My vote goes for a strain that wasn't around when this thread started. 9 lb Hammer. Originally I didn't think much of it. It was totally unstable, 5 seeds 5 pheons, weak plant structure, and low yielding. The smoke was very un-distinctive, all you could say was " that's some strong pot."
I made some wax out of it and it was devastating. I put it away for awhile and recently pulled it out again and started blending it with other strains. Wow is all I can say 25% hammer with any other stain and it becomes exponentially better. Just as good if not better than crumbling hash in a J

If you are saying that a pack of RECENT Vortex has the floor cleaner funk, I will try it again! Man, I was a Subcool fan for a little while. I have made some bad post about my last order.
No kidding, I had 2 people this week ask me about "that old vortex" from 2012... I would like to try it out again, but there is always other things that make it to the basket 1st! My last pack had no floor cleaner at all.
You are the first TGA fan that has actually tried to talk to me about this. I know that I have come across rude about it, but man, I thought they went south in a hurry?
Do you have any shots of the shorter pheno, the lime/floor cleaner pheno? Your pics look like the A13 dom, which is the one that I was going after, the hash maker! The BHO that I made from it tasted like a roasted nut of some kind, like a sunflower seed? Shit would spin my head until I felt like I had vertigo! In 2012, I had 4-5 SpaceQueen dom phenos that were almost identical, keepers, and 1 A13 dom pheno that was killer.
I think that I will buy a 1/2 pack of Vortex on my next order! It is only $50, and a 1/2pk in 2012 would have been enough to find a keeper!!!

I had a pretty long list of things that I wanted to try. Agent Orange was always sold out at the time. TimeWreck, Chernobyl, Jack the Ripper, Jacks Cleaner2, Ripped Bubba, and it just keeps going! I am like that, I will find a good company and try everything they have. Reserva P, Mr. Nice, and now Rare Dankness.

Lol, as a matter of fact I do, here is a comparison between the taller and shorter version. As far as I can tell they all get that lime floor cleaner smell after being jarred up together, it really over powers any of the fruit/baby food smells from the smaller one.
...i like sugar leafs, sue me, haha

Still early, but I'm liking what I see. I see at least one likely keeper for now (gonna have to get more packs to find a truly amazing specimen though... I figure like 20-30 plants from a line you should find at least one) assuming the smoke is anywhere near as good as the smell and visible frost.

How many different phenos are in JillyBean? I had 4 that were strong citrus like a orange peel, no orange creamsicle? Did I just get unlucky?
I got some Cali-Orange from an old Vietnam vet, and I have been looking for something similar for a while! I would say that it had the orange dreamsicle or whatever, and it was very hairy. I dont know where he got his stuff from?

Doing good, amigo, and hope the same for you. After a few years here, there's only a couple of topics on RIU I look at these days. Got my grow routine down pat, have seeds galore, and see no flame wars of interest, so not much to comment on....

My buddy is growing out a half pack of 9lb...2 of them hermied bad and he had to cull them. I have heard of hermies being associated with 9lb but wanted to try for ourselves, so if you do grow it just watch, because at least 1 will be guaranteed to herm on you.

Read my post, i said "I have heard of 9lb being assocaiated with hermies." As in, multiple, multiple experiences of people experiencing the same thing. I "wanted to see for myself." And yep, it happened. That's only growing out 5 of a 10 pack. So again, "if you do grow it out just watch."
