Th seeds pheno hunt and geekbeast lught test

Day 21... still working around the room to defoliate. Dome the most bushy plants. Mainly its lollipoppibg effort and a few of the larger fan leaves.

So far comparing the geekbeasy light to the hlg lights.... the plants seem smaller. And generally the leaves are smaller. They appear to be producing many buds with what seems like tight formation. The hlg lights seem to encourage larger leaf growth. Its ay too early to be anything conclusive and its not anything like a fair test as all the lights have different phenos underneath. The next run in January will show a more fiar test as I will probably be running cuts of a single pheno.

Got this indica dominant French macaroon that is looking amazing...

This is end of week 5... half way point and everything is looking looking good. Some browning of a few pistils here and there, but no surprises. Checked everything in situ and can't seen any hermies.

Into week 6. One of the plants has shown some issues. I recalibrate my ph pen and it appears that my nutes were way too acidic in ph. Luckily only one so the others are looking fine.... the one should recover as I caught it early.... I've doubled the feeds and corrected the ph... should increase the ph over the week. Given that they are mostly healthy I don't want the shift to be too quick.

2 plants now suffering from rust spots. The ph pen was defo part of it... bit maybe feeding too strong too. I'm backing off for a bit and double checking ph.... all others looking good tho.

Dark period was also getting very humid... so time for the dehu to go in... got it now at about 60% based on vpd charts

Start of week 7....trying to limit damage from the ph issues. Doing OK.... but compiling a list of things I need to fix for next run....

1 calibrate ph pen every time...
2 lower ec overall
3.. get all plants on the same feeding loop. Having them on different pumps makes the timing really hard... some plants are too wet snd some don't run off.
4 obviously less phenos

The issues I have had seem to have stunted the growth. I think I'll get a good output but not as big as it could have been.

I'm doing a phenohunt except I'm only running one strain at a time. Probably going to take me 5 years to go through the seeds I have now.

Mate.... I was addicted to buying seeds... I could probably do full runs from seed for a couple of years... totally bought into the marketing bullshit lol. I got some nice seeds tho... loads of dna seeds... got loads of tangie seeds.

I don't even have that many to go through though 8 strains maybe 9 or 10. Probably not going to find my holy grail anyways lol

Things are looking OK... tried to get some close up shots here.

It's getting cooler again somi cranked the heater up a little more. Cruising at 26c.

Looks like I have 3 phenos of French macaroon that are looking amazing and I want to keep. The underdawgs under the geekbeast light look frosty... but smaller buds than the plants under the hlg lights. The fact is the hlg lights have more diodes and the run harder... they are just far more powerful lights and I think the spectrum of them is perfect potentially better. Next run I will do a side by side test unless I swap out the geekbeast for a cdm light.

I got 2 French macaroon phenos (pics attached)I think I'm gonna keep. The 3rd is getting some bud rot which is a real shame. I might try it again next run anyway and give it more air flow and dry the air more.

The 2 underdawgs are as expected... sugary... and looking tasty. But smaller buds.

These 2 are looking banging though and they are well on target in terms of early flowering. They are in week 7 now. Week 8 on Saturday...

Some close ups in start of week 8. Still running at ec 1.8. And will be ramping down at the end of this week.

Most of the keepers looked like shorter flowerers to me... bit never know til they start to mature. At this point I think they will be good in 2 weeks.
