Then why are you complaining about the health care system? Sounds to me like you're doing fine. Don't bother going to the VA for medical help in Arizona. My buddy there tells me it sucks.

And by the way, the fact that you served in the military and I didn't is nothing more than another red herring thrown up by you to deflect argument from the other side ... so stop with the bullshit already.

Vi
If you haven't personally experienced VA health care, what entitles you to bitch about it? And if you haven't served in the military, why do you propose war and killing. Just more of the mindless rhetoric by those stay at home warriors. I'll bet if you were posted in Bagdad, you'd be singing a different tune! BTW I've never bitched about My health care situation. I, unlike you, have compassion for others less fortunate and bitch for reform of the total system. Also, my dad recieved Health care from the VA in Az. and never bitched about it.

u can't give things away for free med u just can't... to many americans are dependent on those of us who would work already... i have compassion for everyone who needs it... but not for everyone... you propose giving one big get out of jail free card and that just won't work... this country is already filled to the brim with people who abuse my tax money... i have no problem helping people who need and deserve help but most people who would use these progams don't need or deserve help... our government has been screwing us for years and you only can see half of it med... you talk about what republicans do to screw us and turn a blind eye to what the democrats do... the social programs in this country will only continue to get worse... the more we give people for free the more people will abuse this... Did you know that welfare for instance someone can collect more money sitting at home collecting a welfare check then if they went to work and collected a check for less welfare money... the democrats encourage this... i know mcdonald may not be the best job but if i couldn't get any other job i would work there before i would collect welfare... most of the people on social programs can work and choose not to... what is your excuse for them med??? do you want to continue paying out your hard earned taxes to keep the filth of society alive... or continue paying taxes so that illegals can get benefits they aren't even entitled to... this country has come to the point where everything is ok and everyone who doesn't do what they are supposed to do are victims... it fucking makes me sick... sick sick sick...

I agree, there are some lazy people, but your welfare to work scenario needs more explanation: for example a single parent household (Mother usually) and kids that needs babysitting, cannot survive on minimum wages and pay for childcare, therefore it doesn't compute for her to go to work for less money than welfare. If you want people to work, pay them a livable wage and I'm sure most of them will get off welfare and go to work to better their situation. There are some lazy people and they should be denied compensation for their refusal of work, but to deny a mother welfare when she can not make as much working is criminal. Pay decent wages and see how many lazy people you have. I wouldn't get out of bed to go to work @ minimum wage either. It is a sad commentary on this country when you have CEOs with multi-million dollar salaries and companies paying minimum wages, and then to have people like you trying to deny a poor woman with 3 children welfare because she won't go to work for less money!

you misinterpert me med... i agree someone in that situation should have welfare... but when i was young my mom raised me and my brother by herself and one month her 3 jobs couldn't get all the bills paid and she went to apply for one month of welfare...ONE MONTH... and they wouldn't give it to her because she made to much money... to much money working 3 jobs to support her kids... do you understand what that means med??? that means that in order to collect welfare you basically have to have no job or you won't get anything... the system is messed up they encourage people to not work and that is the problem... i agree maybe ceo's could take a pay cut so that they could raise the minimum wage for their companies but what about the small businesses... the bosses make a good bit but not enough to pay their lowest paid employees a decent minimum wage... it is not the system's fault that their is low paying jobs it is the fault of the person... if you want a good job then you have to work hard and earn it and in this country you may have to start out at the bottom but anyone who has a goal and determination can make it... unfortunatly social reform takes away peoples motivation... i'm sick of paying taxes for lowlives to continue to live... i see the truth and understand it... i think our wounded vetrans should get more benefits but most end up on the street because we are to busy giving money to good for nothings... i think your mother in your scenario and my mother should and should have gotten welfare money but they won't because the program is designed for the bottomfeeders... in this country we have made it ok for everyone who doesn't want to do something with their lives to be a victim and the real victims we leave to the vultures... can't you see what i'm talking about med??? at least most of the ceo's worked hard to get where they are but you propose to give the people that would never work at all a free ride... and just because you don't like the minimum wage isn't an excuse not to work... get two jobs at minimum wage if you have to and save money to go to school to get a better job... if you are poor in this country it is no ones fault but your own except for the special cases i mentioned above...the true victims!!! so don't try to act like i'm ruthless when really i'm just a realist... i'm sick of supporting the bottomfeeders and if all of their lazy good for nothing asses starve to death a tear won't grace my cheek... but when a mom working 3 jobs can't get food for her children and i have to starve for a month well that kinda pisses me off and is the true sad story!!!

Were on the same page here with the exception of the minimum wage thing. I say the minimum wage should be a starting out point and nothing more. With inflation and the high cost of everything, you can't survive on the minimum. 5.50 an hour just doesn't cut it in this day and age. The republicans have been refusing to raise the minimum for 12 years while giving themselves a raise every 2 years. The CEOs have been going insane with their raises. The Dems finally got a minimum wage bill passed, now we'll see if the Devil will sign it. I had it rough as a kid also. We ate cornflakes and powdered milk for 2 months once during a broke spell. another time when my little brother was a baby, my mom got a baby formula from a govt. agency, like Similac, and we used it for milk for our cornflakes, diluted with water, so I know what poor is. I started out in life with nothing but my wit and actually ended up making a lot better living than my parents, nothing major, but very survivable, I found for a non-college graduate, unions were a way to make a decent living. Today unions are on the decline and even college graduates are having a hard time finding a decent job, It's hard out there for a Pimp!

Yup, we certainly can't hold our breath. That's why I'd much rather see Obama than Hillary. Obama is for change, Hillary is just for hillary, Edwards, well he's for single payer medical and a lot of good ideas, like ending the war upon innauguration. We'll have to see how it plays out. The Republicans just want more of the same old bull. The corporations are going to pour a shitload of money to the Republicans to try and keep their foothold on Government. If Hillary gets in, I think the corporations will be happy, but Obama and Edwards scare the hell out of them.

OK, one more attempt ... What exactly are the changes being espoused by Obama that you support? I ask because I've heard Obama speak ... and I've heard him say nothing specific. Evidently you have, so I seek out your wisdom. Thanks in advance Med ...

When I find out I'll let you know, Meanwhile, change from this insanity would be a welcome commodity. I'm pretty sure he's not steering to the right. and he has proposed troop withdrawel starting at the latest: Mar. 2008, thats more than any right winger has the balls to say. Stay the course is all the republican arseholes can muster, the course of destruction and death, Brilliant!

we can't withdrawl med!!! there are those consequences i keep talking about again... the results would be catastrophic... the middle east would turn into an uncontrolled cesspot for terroist breeding and the us would be made to look even weaker and more vurnerable... sometimes you have to face the facts... if you really care about this country you have to understand this... just like we can't propose another amnesty for the illegals... we just can't do it!!!

Bush wants to stay the course and have amnesty for illegals, who is right here. The Middle east is already a steaming pile of shite, we are only stimulating the caos, so leave and let them duke it out, send all the illegals back. simple plan but workable.

i'm far from happy with bush... but if we leave the middle east then they will not duke it out they will blame the US and retaliate... and the terroists grip on the middle east will strengthen... that is common sense med do you disagree???

I by far agree with this statement. I've been to the middle east, twice, and if we did pull out I could definitly see that happening. But also, on top of that I could also see other countries, blaming us. We aren't a very popular country to alot of people outside the U.S.

So, here was the question:

OK, one more attempt ... What exactly are the changes being espoused by Obama that you support? I ask because I've heard Obama speak ... and I've heard him say nothing specific. Evidently you have, so I seek out your wisdom. Thanks in advance Med ...

And here is your answer:

When I find out I'll let you know, Meanwhile, change from this insanity would be a welcome commodity. So, you really don't have an answer as to WHY you support Obama, right? Again ... you are all emotion and no logic. I've been watching Obama. He's full of nothing. Oh, he spouts off with great sounding verbiage like "Free medical care for everyone." Or, "Out of the Middle East upon inauguration." Or, "We need a new direction." Or, "Out with the old, and in with the new." Just tons on nonsense with no explanation of how to pay for it. Nor does he say anything about how our pulling out of the Middle East would affect those living there ... or, how we would be affected here at home. In other words Med ... he sounds just like you ... lots of verbiage with no substance.
