THC increase under LEDs...

Outdoors plants are subjected to way higher levels of UV(a-b) than ANY indoor light source can emit. I see no harm in using it, and if I remember correctly kitehigh(rip) had actual lab analysis done which proved a "significant" thc increase and justified its continued use in his garden.

Apache tech panels are the best American manufacturer on the market ATM, are they perfect? No. they space their leds to close together resulting in a small fixture size == small footprint/coverage area for the $, they use secondary pmma lenses (10-15% light loss) and have rather careless light loss to the sides due to the clear lenses (another extra 5%? Loss). But these are easy fixes in the future with better aluminum "reflectors"and possible tighter primary led lens options from nichia themselves?

Still...... its a great led fixture IMO

Its ok to run uvb everyday. Depending on the percentage. If more than 5% uvb then only run 5 hours a day. If less you can run it the whole time . Plants respond well to UV in veg an flower.

I didn't know uvb helped in veg. I just switched my babies to 12/12, I think I'll go ahead and turn on the uvb, just to see if this batch turns out better than the last one.

Around the 4:35 mark, they discuss why LED's can give higher THC levels than HPS, because of heat damage caused to the plants by the HPS.

I think it's not only UV but also just more blue and better spectrum than hps and MH's. Lack of intense IR heat is one of the benefits that karma's video touches on. LED's have a little uv sometimes, but not much, and all the units(other than CLW) that add UV chips in are not UVB, they are UVA. CLW has legit UVB. But it's not new UVB tech, people have been using reptile builds like supra said for a long time. It's the units without direct UV that are performing the best and still showing qualitative signs of higher quality and potency. Then some have actually been tested and support the theories.

Trichomes are apart of good health as well as protection from bad health conditions. Led's provide the right spectrum to optimize photosynthesis and health. Plus they can have superior output too with about ~60% of the hps wattage. Price is a different story, but if someone has a longer term mind, then they will see the savings and benefits.
