LoL...

Thank god the tolerance only effects the psychoactive effects, meanwhile the pain relief and anti-inflammatory effects have very little tolerance increases. i was on morphine and oxycontin for nerve damage/pain before switching to marijuana... because the doses i had to take, would be lethal to half the population that had no opio-tolerance... my dosages on the narcotic shit quadrupled over 6 months. Yet, in 6 months of smoking weed to handle the pain, one joint of any decent mid-grade, or a medium bowl of some better stuff, or a good small bowl or pinner of top shelf quality stuff still handles the pain. Sure I am not as 'high' as I felt 5 months ago on the same amount, however my goal is the medicinal effects. Sure from time to time i go a little... heavy and will roll a blunt of mixed top grade primo stuff, and some of my purple kush, smoke it then pass the hell out... but usually only when insomnia is kicking my ass....

...which is another thing altogether... i am used to being high/stoned. This is why I grow, and hit up the local dispensaries. I grow a shit-load of purple kush. To the point where I take several ounces to a local collective and trade it for some hash and other strains, regularly. I have smoked so much god damn purle kush, that I could smoke joints of it all day, and never really feel all that high. I also grow a little bit of various strains for personal use, but mainly just to mix in and change up the 'feel' of the smoke. i also like to avoid smoking the same strain or mix more than twice in one sitting. When i mix, I tend to 'stack' in a joint, or layer in a bowl. If I add hash, depends on the type of hash, if it is pressed, then it gets ground a little and mixed in, if melty i will melt it into the mix, or the INSIDE of the wrap.

the cannabinoids in your fat are non-psychoactive so those wont fuck with your tolerance at all.

there are 3 ways to modify your tolerance

cold turkey quit 3-4-6 days . . . .

only smoke every 3-4 hours, never smoke and then smoke again 45 mins later, or even an hour and a half later, you need to wait atleast 3 hours for this to work and within 2 weeks your tolerance iwll be totally changed. blazing every 3-4 hours has worked perfectly for me on a LONG term basis (same bud same strain because I grew pounds of it, every day and I still get just as high)

or you can get another strain . . . and you will feel higher in a different way, but your tolerance is sitll fucked until you reset it using step 1 or 2.

Thanks for that info...

Thanks for the topic, too. I struggle with trying to cut down for a few days much less stop for a week, because I use marijuana to manage the fibromyalgia pain many times a day.

I also heard the thc is stored in our fat cells, so it's possible to test positive on a drug test for weeks after you've quit. So, if I were to stop smoking for a period of time and exercise instead I wonder if that would release the thc and I'd get the medical benefits...

Happy toking, everyone! :joint:

Haha that's what I did. I had money earlier this year.. a nice amount. So I'de go through atleast a quarter every 3-5 days. And certain occasions I would smoke ridiculous amounts. But since july it's been somewhere around a gram or less a day and that has lowered my tolerance alot, spacing out the times you smoke works too. Also I've heard smoking exactly after you work out it will lower your tolerance.

I believe working out in general will lower your tolerance . . . . . as it releases anandamide which makes the cannabinoid receptor work in the opposite direction . . . which will stop down regulation of receptors (what builds your tolerance)

think of it like, anandamide is giving the cannabinoid receptors a break from THC as it works in the opposite direction.

Wow, thanks. Really informative. By the end of the day im going to write up a thread for understanding tolerance, ive been putting it off.

The only way to lower tolerance is to stop smoking. Period. You weight and the amount you smoke daily is going to come into play when you decide the amount of time you quit. I am 230 lb and have been smoking has mostly for the last 2 or 3 years so I need to wait it out for about a month. Few months and if your relatively thin...you'd probably be good on stopping for a week or 2. The hardest part is just being able to say no. Specially when it's always around. Take a break from your friends for a week and load up on shit to keep you busy. It's not hard. I'm on day 5.

Between my 9 months of smoking I have took a couple days off, but then i binge. But i think all you need to do is realize that you can be happy and have a great life without it. If you can't afford it that makes sense to quit, but if you can afford it I say why not, its not like your smoking cigs, just know that its not what makes you, you. Smoking weeed is the most relaxing thing to do after a hard day at work though.

Urine testing is so easy to beat just by diluting your urine (done by water loading hours before... avoid heavy exercise... you want t be peeing every 15 min or so... add salt to food and drink a couple red bulls before testing). You will fail for weeks if you give morning urine or rested/dehydrated urine. Think of it as your body is metabolising a fixed amount per hour, at a fairly constant rate which varies person to person, day to day. This amount is always going into your urine, now the longer between going #1, the higher the metabolite concentration in your urine. Thus by increasing the volume, you both DILUTE the metabolites down, the red bull adds pale yellow color and urine smell (B vitamin rich substances do this... red bull also has caffeine... a performance enhancer for urinalysis purposes...) and when done right, no need to even worry, you could piss stoned off your ass smoking a joint and pass with flying colors. Cannabinoids are stored in certain fats designed to hold certain substances to be metabolized, not the general body fat, but in visceral fat. Sure some can be found in body fat, but the visceral fat has several magnitude the concentration. This is the fat layers that hold and preserve substances while the body waits to metabolize them. The body is just about always metabolizing cannabinoids... it just takes several different enzymatic reactions and some other chemical reactions to break it down and pass it out the body. Working out causes your metabolic rate to increase, when done regularly, thus those who workout will have a higher urine concentration but will also clear it out of their system much faster. I try to smoke as little as possible, and am even taking an even stronger and more favorible taste to hash and other concentrates, because i am good with 3-4 hits of some good potent hash a day throughout the day. sometimes 5 if i can't get to sleep, but 1 gram lasts 5-7 days, some stuff 2 weeks a gram (budder like stuff) alone, double if topping bowls with it. I also find that i seem to clear urine tests at the same rate, which leads me to believe that there is a maximum osmotic absorption effect going on....
