The breeders you trust?

I see a lot of comments that say "watch what breeder you buy from" etc regarding quality beens that are less likely to hermie on you.

Who are the breeders you veterans trust most?

It seems like the breeders that don't offer feminized seeds are often the breeders I see the veterans talking about.. Like OG Raskel or Gage Green Genetics, Subcool, etc. I'm curious if maybe that's a good rule to follow, look to the breeders who don't even offer feminized seeds? :) I'm sure it's not that simple, maybe just coincidence.

So who are the breeders you consider top quality?

Offering femmed seeds is just good business sense. I wouldn't judge a breeder on wanting to tap a huge market.

I don't know who DNAs breeder is but they have some great genetics.

i agree that just cuz a breeder offers fems doesn't mean i'd steer clear of them for the most part..

some of the breeders i like in no order really are

shanti and neville of mr nice... they've brought tons of classics like the orginal white widow, el nino, etc etc etc.. don't be fooled by the knock off's sold by many other banks like greenhouse, which shanti was their breeder back in the 90's when they were good, stick to mr nice's gear and you won't be let down..

sannie and krew like e$kobar and the other breeders whose gear you can get at sannies seed shop.. lots of fire, great prices, excellent freebies and killer customer service from the gang at sannies..

i'm a fan of a lot of the stuff that dr greenthumbs has put out that i've had the chance of running, as well as what i've seen others run of his.. not the cheapest beans on the planet, but definitely has some fire ime..

hmm, who else.. oh yah, bog, bushy old grower.. he's been around for a good few years now and has some classic's like blue moon rocks, sour bubble, lifesaver and many more... seems like bog tends to fly under the radar around here, but don't let that fool you as he has some real gems in his gear.. i'm growing his sour strawberry kush, link in my sig if you wanna check them out.

sensi seeds is another old time breeder who has been around a lot longer than most of the people in the game today.. i've heard that some of the new gear doesn't hold up to their older stuff, but i'm giving them a shot now as well growing out there mr nice, g13 x hp, and i have to say i'm pretty happy with her about 5 weeks or so into flower she's frosting up very nicely, and looks to be a lovely smoke. again, link in the sig..

some of the newer breeders i hear good stuff about are gage green, connoisuer, karma genetics, cannaventure, top shelf seeds, sure fire seeds, and a few others, lol..

a lot of people are all over subcool / tga's gear, i'm just not a fan of the person pushing them, so i'm a lil biased against the seeds, lol, but lots of people do seem to eat his stuff up around here for sure..

Yeah I was kidding about the breeders offering fem seeds, though it does seem like all the breeders the veterans around here talk about don't offer fem seeds :) And I don't mind that a bit, I haven't had a lot of luck with fem seeds.

Thanks for the info guys, it seems you guys are all in agreement. I'll start keeping an eye out for for those breeders, I need to check out this sannies seed shop too!

Weird how lots of people around here suggest going with a line of seeds and breeder that is known for crosses(not strains) and hermies. Thats all I got because the people that know, know.

I've grown stuff from DNA, Reserva, GHS, TGA, Homegrown Fantaseeds, Sensi, Female Seeds, Cali Connection and Emerald Triangle seeds. The only strains left in my collection at the moment are ET's and a CC Chem 4 and Pre98 Bubba. Everything else either hermed or was mediocre and overrated. Every ET strain has been pure tasty smelly dank, a solid grower, and again, DANK. Out of 8 plants (fems) of theirs I only had one (Sour Lemon og)with minor herm issues. And unlike the other strains from the other breeders, ET genetics get me just as stoned after smoking on the stuff for 5 months as it did when I first harvested it. No tolerance buildup. I've also heard great things about Sannies, so I ordered some Extrema to try out. But the absolute WORST hermie/male flower problems I've ever encountered were Sour Kush (headband), OG 18, Larry, and Sleestack. And my award for the weakest, most uninteresting smoke goes to Cheesequake, ICE (female seeds), and Jilly Bean.

Um, a strain IS a cross. There is no difference. How do you think a strain is created created? A pair of plant are crossed together, and then worked on til stable and as desired.

I've never grown enough consecutive seeds from the same place to be able to offer much of a valid opinion on good breeders, but i've had a bit of a :/ experience with TGA beans and i'm in no way whatsoever a fan of GHS, the church grew well but everything else from then i tried nooo thankyou

Generally the ones i trust are the ones who are not trying to sell "rare" strains, because history in the seed game has shown that they're generally just bullshitting for easy money based on some hype.

i love that brutal honesty of your's. i grew jillybean not too long ago and some pheno's lean too much toward the orange skunk in potency (soft hitting) and the ICE i got from Nirvana (dinafem doesn't offer ICE) can be a little too creepish and lacking in mental stone where other phenos would put me to sleep (as i call it "nirvana variation"), another total flop of a strain was sensi's skunk kush, but ive only grown 3 so far(out of 10) so its just a matter of how many seeds you pop and if you get that keeper you like(subjectivity).

also i might note, as a matter of observation of growing these past few years, some doppelgangers are better than the Real McCoy,

for instance....

i got paradise's sensi star, grew 10 seeds to compare with the 10 superstar(sensi star x sensi star) from delta 9 and the superstar from delta 9 labs was superior in almost every aspect except the buildup of tolerance, whereas the paradise took forever to begin to need a dosage increase where the superstar was a once or twice a week toke.

Sorry, I meant Female Seeds. I was thinking dinafem. And I should have mentioned that Sensi's Mr. Nice was really good, if I could get a hold of the pheno that I had before, I'd keep it.

TGA is the only gear i am growing now. super potent, super great taste, no hermies. would recommend 10 packs over 5 packs to get better pheno selection.
