Week age is just a guage - plant doneness isn't determined by age unfortunately... it's an 8 week strain but those aren't gonna be done at 8 weeks in a week and a half... you can take'm then, but... :)

I respect your opinion, thanks. This is the time of the grow I hate the most, the anticipation of harvest. I know it's a waiting game but I'm not good at waiting, my plans are to wait till I have 30 to 50% amber trichs then I'll cut. The one plant I'm looking at being the first has no signs of growth, all the fan leaves have faded and are falling off, pistols have dried and disappeared. I'd say there are 30 to 45% milky trichs on her now, but I'm holding out for ambers.

That seems way early to be that yellow with that few milky trichs... are you sure it just didn't run out of N? If you go by the ambers you should be good either way. Not really sure there's much you can do on the one that's already so yellow anyway 6.5 weeks in on an 8 week strain :) I think in a week and a half or two they are going to look done to you, but it is gonna take another week or two after that for them to do their final plump and go amber... we'll see :) oh and if they are not showing signs of growth that doesn't mean much at this stage they will go for days looking the same then hit growth spurts especially in that last ripening stage you haven't even hit yet :) What are you going to use to check the trichs?

It all looks bomb. Good job

I don't use a scope anymore. I think using a scope can be deceiving. You can have more amber or less depending on the bud and/or time of the day. Plus its prefence of the high and flavor you want too.

I just do trial and error. My rule of thumb. When it first starts to look done to the naked eye. Give it another 5-7 days.

That had to suck to think no one would use it like that. My Secret Garden is pretty protected from things like that happening. Hopefully this will be the last year I use it, but ya never know.

Well it's week 8 and the last one standing is the sativa dom, the other two plants I had turned quickly over the weekend so they are cut and hanging to dry. Hands are sore from trimming but well worth it. The Flav #1 The Flav 17 001.jpgThe Flav 17 002.jpgThe Flav 17 003.jpgThe Flav 17 004.jpg a few more days and I'm sure I'll be cutting her down. The only thing I have left to do is finish my SOG, with the last big girl out I will have 115 clones to flower all in 2L Hempies.

So I've finished with my big grow this summer and I just need to get my SOG done and out of the way. The Flav has to be one of if not the best strain I have grown to date, with the methods of growing and going to 1000 watts. Growing method was Hempy Buckets (straight large chunk perlite) with GH Flora series nutes and supplements, I mainlined all plants. I started 5 seeds and had 2 males and 3 females. Of the females there were 3 different pheno's, a short bushy Indica Dom, a moderately tall Sativa Dom and a Hybred that stretched like crazy. I used two, 5 gal buckets and one, 3.5 gal bucket, I had one plant in a 5 gal bucket mainlined for 16 tops the other for 8 tops and the 3.5 gal mainlined for 16 tops. My yields for each were slightly above the Oz/Gal, plant #1 5gal, 16 tops net was 6.15 oz, plant #2 5 gal, 8 tops net was 5. 72 oz, plant #4 3.5 gal, 16 tops net was 4.52 oz. Don't think I'll be changing anything as far as style or method of growing, just try to improve on my techniques, would like to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to Nugbuckets for introducing Mainlining and sharing this technique with us. As for smoking this fine strain, it's smooth and relaxing a little more heady than I expected. Has a really nice citrus flavor to floral undertones, going to have this around for awhile. Thanks to everyone for comments and support. Peace and Happy Growing!!!

HA HA HA!!! No, rest for the weary. I've got my SOG to tend to, the first batch (18 plants) is 3 weeks and 4 days old, the second batch (22 plants) is 17 days in and just started the third batch (27 plants) flowering today. I have 29 plants in veg with another 50 in the clone dome, so the big harvest BBQ won't be until mid Sept or first of Oct.

We should have a get together the small circle of growers i know here :) i gotta get involved with norml... apparently they had a texas cannabis cup on 4/20 but only people in the know got invited... i guess i don't run in the right circles lol i keep tellin' myself i'm gonna go out but i hate doing things like that (going to a big group of people i don't know anyone... used to have social phobia/shyness not too bad anymore but i still am not big on that kind of situations and also hate to answer the phone if i don't know who's calling...). then again i never did run in the right circles i always have had like one shitty connection that can never get quality stuff...
