The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

Lol.
The FOTOP Boards, at the moment. Great coverage, nice par readings, cheap and easy to set up. No heatsink required if running soft. With heatsink 370 watts
I really like the way they have the diodes nice n far apart
I can't complain about any of the boards really. All preform fantastic.
The 2 Channel Growgreen boards diodes are too tightly packed and need hefty heatsinks if running hard - they can handle 220 watts or more.
The Disco Boards look the part spectrum wise but are relatively new in the garden so I'll know over the next grow or two.
QB288s are good boards too but the hlg550 should have been made bigger for better spread.
My preference for led lights is, lots of them and run them soft.
I'm seriously considering ordering the lm301B UFO with Cree supplements from R2T... I think it would be perfect for my 2x2 that has 6 X EB strips 2nd gen for side lighting.

Here's the last batch, Paradise Seeds Sensi Star original.
I've just taken it off the stalks.
A nice haul.

I can't speak highly enough about this Paradise Seeds Sensi Star pheno.

Although I dare not say I've got it ready or there'll be a queue outside my door.

Imagine if they were grown under real Samsung diodes........
Nice man some of the best pics I’ve seen in a while. What size area are you in? I’m in a 4x4 and wanting to use quantum boards from China.. I’m looking for help with lighting any info is appreciated

I've now added a Growgreen 384 board to the mix, ~56 watts, 28 watts per channel .
3000k 90cri and 5000k 80cri.
It's a Mk1 board so had to solder - no wagos.
4000 leds now lol

Left side the 2 x disco boards. Back right the 2 x FOTOP Boards. Front right the Growgreen.

The 150 diode burple board at 30 watts on the side of the Sensi Star originals.

The Somango is starting to tower over everything now. Sez it has big skunk Korean in it... big something lol. I snapped the main cola over to even it out a bit. It was growing into the 30 watt burple that's why I moved the burple onto the Sensi's.

Bit of full spectrum . 2 x gg boards, 1 x QB and 30 watts o burple

And 50 watts of 1212s on the side for good measure

6 plants is too much.
5 is ok but 4 plants suits me and my area perfectly. I can move them around much easier, check for bugs n such and trim out the crap better. I like a bit of room.
Is that a heater?

I’ve been reading a lot of this thread butttt—it’s a lot.
I’m in a 4x4 and looking to possibly send back my two cob 240 watts and spending my money on Chinese quantum boards.
What would be the best choice of lights to fill up a 4x4 with plenty of light?
Also what are best lights for veg? Will 65 watt quantum’s work?
Lastly are the newer version quantum boards worth the money? or are the older diodes pretty much the same.
Thank you for any help. good vendor choice is helpful as well

You can fit 4 boards like this in a 4*4

Edit: these lights are white, my cellphone camera makes them look blurple.
These are the lm561b boards from Meijiu on Alibaba. You can get the Alibaba app and chat with Rita there. She hooked me up. Tell her Pablo Draco sent you. I paid $80 a piece for the boards add + heatsinks $30 each + driver's. You should be able to find Meanwell 600's at around $100 each. You'll need 2 for 4 boards. You can also go for the lm301B boards, but they are more expensive at around $115-120. Not sure the difference is that noticable. Then there's the shipping... But I've seen they offer free shipping to the US before.

How the hell is your camera fucked up to make photos appear like blurple light?

What COBs, with what driver? If you're running a decent setup, you may see little-to-no gain from switching to boards.

You would NOT want two 600w drivers in a 4x4. One (with appropriately matched boards) would be more than enough.

Thanks man.
My grow area size varies depending on plant numbers. It's usually between 4 ft x 3 ft to
6 ft x 4 ft ish. I've got reflective boards that I can move in or out.

2 x FOTOP 800 board kits with heatsinks will do a 4 x 4. 1 x MW 600h would get the job done.
3 x FOTOP 800 boards even better
4 x FOTOP 800 boards for a 4ft x 4ft would be perfect.
2 x MW 320H 48A drivers would suit the 4 board setup.
Wall to wall light lol.

In one of your photos in the center front of your room there is a black fan type thing. Is it a heater, is it a cooler, nor is it a fan?
Right third time.lol
It's a Tower fan or 2

20181210_190214.jpg

Here's Soma's Somango from seed, 45 days 12 on 12 off.
It's under a Disco Board now, in the left hand side at the back.
It got so tall I'd to snap some branches over. Must be the skunk in her.
I had to raise the Gorrillas up 8" to even out the canopy
20181210_185011.jpg

And 4 x RQS Royal Gorrilla that were under the hinflux strips until I moved then in beside the Somango about an hour ago.
20181210_184940.jpg 20181210_185026.jpg

So, I've the Somango and a Gorrilla directly under the Disco Boards to see if anything good or bad happens.

I have 2 cheap Chinese leds with (epileds COBs) and 3watt osram chips. Each 240 watt with veg and bloom switch. I also have a high pressure sodium 400 watt I’m basically using these as supplemental light in 4x4 grow tent. https://www.amazon.com/Hipargero-Lights-Indoor-Plants-Spectrum/dp/B075XSFB5X
I’ve done a lot of research and I finally decided to buy these a week or so ago and they seem to be pretty decent but they have 120° Lens. I asked Customer service and they told me they use these for (whatever reasons) I forgot. Anyways I can send these back if I need to but my mind is boggled at this point from all the information about lighting. I know I should’ve started out simple but did not do that. Do You think I should keep these and just remove the glass lens covering the COB? Or go a different rout. These are the 800 W version not the 400 in the link
I should have mentioned that I have cheap Chinese things from Amazon instead of just saying I have CO B’s thanks for any help
