The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

Same as cost as HLG pretty much. I like how the driver mounts. Ive always questioned putting the driver ontop of the heatsink. Since I grow in a tent my drivers are outside,

Banging my head on wether to add IR and LG UV or just go for the all Cree 660nm only. I am liking the 580 nm or so bump in the IR LG UV board. But how much power is robbed be the IR and LG UV.. Or further issues. Decisions..

I wonder those additional Cree, IR and UV how they are wired in the board off that switch. if one diode or connection goes out what else stops working..

I would prefer not to have that hot, heavy driver mounted on top of the LEDs like that. A remote mounting option would be preferable. At least the 240 watt models are framed to allow the driver to sit between the boards.

Also, that light is pretty expensive. That works out to 207 US dollars and there's not even a heatsink factored into that cost.

That's because it doesn't need a heatsink. The board is much thicker than most and the Fuckers are 15"x9.5" Doesn't get hot at all.
@Corso312 recently received his.
Point taken, it's the same concept as the QB 120 and QB 132, Although the Fissioning boards have a significantly higher diode density.

I just meant that it seemed pricey for a product that does not require a heatsink (which is a significant part of the build cost of many lights). Amazon in the US does have the 120R for $160. So, quite a mark-up for Canadians, almost 50 dollars.

Been investigating this exact question for a Lil over a week now. Email to Jerry at KB directly won't help, I tried. There's too much of a language barrier. I'm going with the reds are a separate channel, wired to equal 54V, when switch is toggled off, power goes to the rest of the board

So a plain quantum board with qb11 reds?

I am thinking the 3500k with cree xpe2 reds only. I noticed that the kit with the 240h c1050b driver was a little cheaper than the HLG 240h 48b. Im trying to think what advantage can I gain from grabbing the 48V driver. One advantage is If I had a driver go I could wire 4 boards to 1 driver for interim. Or add a 3rd board. However CC drivers have advantages too. Probably safer in the event 1 boards fails, easy to wire. Just another decision.. Any opinions on constant current vs constant voltage drivers?

The 240hc1050 introduces high dc voltage into your grow. 48V is quite safe albeit painfull to get zapped from. +200V DC of the c1050 could be quite alot more dangerous.

Nice, another decision. Looks like the V3 board with 36 cree diodes has an expected slight bump in spectrum ( and price ) over the board with 16 cree diodes. for $40 extra that would buy some strips.. For the price, option 1 could be the one.

Did I ever say I dislike shopping for lights and drivers. Your mind changes as fast as the world turns. The spectrum on this board is pretty badass.. I like the 2 single heatsinks as you can customize length and shape with some L channel. gunna sleep on this

Lol it becomes quite the burden. I went with all singles for my light fixture. Helped me distribute them where I wanted.

I knew thats what i had to do. Since my 4x8 is in a corner and I dont have arms of a basketball player. I climb in at certain stages. It allows me to move around. It is a pain adjusting height on to many fixtures for sure but I will perhaps adjust once in a run. Another big plus is removing them for cleaning. I can hold in one hand and they are not that heavy. The center one is a little heavy since I am using slate 6 heatsinks on those qb288's. All drivers mounted remotely. I run these dialed down at about 105 watts each x 13 in flower. About 40 watts per s ft.

Onto the KB. I'm liking those V4 I posted. Ones with onboard Cree, IR and LG UV. for 172usd for that double fixture is pretty sweet. My friend wants to line up 9. THe plan is to start with 2 and move the vipers into the veg space for now. Cant wait to see his face when he plugs in some white light.. lol. Have to throw up a pic before and after..

I sure wish I'd built my beast light into 3 rows rather than one big fixture.

hi guys i have already bought from mejiou and kingbrite, wanted to buy a ready made fixture i have seen hortibloom seems very good, what about this? do you know it? sinowell seems a legit company
This guy has gone and done it! Can anyone say "OPTIC SLIM 600-H"?!?!?! Right at the bottom they clearly state they customize labeling and will make it look however you want..
I fuckin knew it! Good on ya! @Luckymax !!!

P.s, I linked the page you'd have to order from, unless it's the same contact info. Just says on your page min order is 10, this is just 1.
Also, this is an 8 bar fixture. The more bars, the better the spread. It looks like a pretty sweet fixture NGL.... ONLY thing I see is, like so many others, the OVER USE of 5000K LM301 diodes, in the quest to please people who want to have a veg/flower light.

Having read almost 160 pages of this thread, I took the plunge and bought from Kingbrite, one of their new 2020 models. Pre-assembled IP67 waterproof board Kingbrite 240w LM301H 3000k mix 3500k CREE XP-E2 660NM with UV IR switch led grow light.
Bought it for my 4x4, I know I will need at least 480w, will likely add a second one after I receive the Light and test it.

Went for the combination of 3000k and 3500k, I couldnt decide on 1 or the other so opted for the combination.

Q. the UV and IR options are swithable I need to work out the best way to use this, any advise will be appreciated.?

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this thread, althought its a long thread there is a lot of great information here, though it does get confusing.!

The UV isnt. It's NEARUV, so of assume you can leave it it on all the time
