Alright, I need us to be adults about this, yes its exciting and we need to do it, but it needs to be done right. By the growers for the growers. There were several here last year and the one (high times) actually had judged entries but I think we can do better. I'm looking for a brain trust here, sooooo if you've had experience planning events tight. Ideas for prizes, categories, locations, rules, judging, participant regulations... Let's keep posting ideas till around the first of the year. Wanna be a part of it all, let us know. I don't want it to look like I'm the guy taking the reins her, cuz we'v e all thought about doing this. No apps yet let's just get the job positions we think we need first!!! Sooooo I'll start w the typical indica/sativa/hybrid....

Basically using the emerald cups formula here too, as in: it won't be the biggest thing the first year but with time damn near every grower in the state will wanna shot & sometime in june july?

Must be a red card holder, and maybe an entry fee that is to be donated to a npo that we all agree on ahead of time on...

How bout categories? They could get crazy real quick... Keep it simple? Any ideas about where? I don't think that will be hard... And is june july to early? Should outdoor even be a cat? Best new strain? I/h/s? Just stay throwing ideas out guys, that way we can start to think about what we wanna c... Maybe a for person judging panel including a home grower, care giver, mmjc and someone who doesn't. Or and a people fav? Cmon now whacha got?

High Times Medical Cannabis Cup is 4/21-22 this year, so may want to push this off a little later as little as i want to say that. Maybe a Halloween event?
I would love to see 2 panels of judges, one panel of just patients, one panel of growers/industry insiders. Maybe too complex then, maybe just a single judge panel and then a peoples choice, would encourage samples, although you would need more product to enter then....
Who are you thinking can enter? Any patient?
I will think about this, i have no experience in any of this other than attending, but i will do i can to help!

So maybe like pay to be a judge in the peoples cup... Max number of tics for that part? How would that look?

trust me, i love the idea and i've seen a couple bounced around. the issues come with implementation and the MMED - without their approval, it leaves open some wide open holes for problems (eg: per patient 2oz rule. cannot 'donate' or give away meds.). there are a couple 'underground' CO Cups, but it's a who you know sort of thing to get in (I'm certainly not one of those who knows anyone).
