My wife is a direct care provider. Some people are on 15-20 pills a day. They are in fear of ever losing their job. this is simply bondage, nothing more.

100% of America has access to care. You cannot be turned away. Now a lot less have access to the funds to pay for it, but it's still there.

Happiness: no we don't score well. Mainly because of our ecological footprint. Those that are in the "happiest" countries are also mainly dirt poor. The happiest people are in the Caribbean.

As for getting fatter, people don't eat healthy. That isn't a doctors fault or exercises fault.

Your comparisons to the Congo were way way way off base.

And i I agreed that we are getting fatter. It's the individual's fault, not the fault of a doctor or insurance or Obama or Bush. None of them can make you eat healthier.

And yes, we die younger than SOME countries, and we live longer than others.

You are correct, you didn't say last. I will edit that out.

Our health care(where a doctor lays a hand on you) is actually quite good. The costs not so much. And I agree, an ER isn't great, but to say people don't have access to healthcare is a misnomer when everyone has access, just not an ability to pay. They will still be treated though.

I think things need to be reformed, but not how it's being reformed now.

Doctors disagree. They say its three things. In order of highest reasons given:

Lawsuits, insurance guidelines, and time to see patient.

The doctors surveyed attributed the pressure to overtreat patients primarily to three factors. Almost half believed that inadequate time allotted to patients led them to order more tests or refer to specialists. More than three-quarters also believed that the fear of being sued or perceived as not doing enough put undue pressure on them to order more.
