The Earthbox? How does it work?

I read an artical in High Times about something called an Earthbox. It says it helps prevent over or under watering your plants. You can use soil or soilless.. holds up to 4 plants per container. I'm not seeing how it works though, but H.T. says its a good way to grow organic. Has anyone used one of these systems?

man it just looks like a simple wick system, I built one in environmental biology basicly there are two tupperware stacked on top of each other the top is filled with dirt at the bottom of the top tupperware cut some slits and pull thru some absorbent material (BEFORE filling the top tupperware with dirt) making sure it is long enough to go ino the bottom tupperware which will be filled with water. Initially water the soil to make it moist. The water will be the be wicked to the soil as needed. When you are done building it all you will need to do is refill the water every so often. I hope this explains it!
The earth box looks like a big waste of money you can make your own cheap and you can tailor it to your needs.

Sweet.. thanks for the info! I'm just going to stick with DWC. I'm using soilless right now though. I'm growing 14 plants indoors... I have 8 plants outside. When they get bigger I want to clone them and find out the sex. Then I'm going to plant the females into the ground.. the plants inside will just be put under HPS for 12/12 But!! I will keep three for mothers. The female plants outside when they get really big I think I could pull a good amount of clones of them... then by fall I will stop and let them flower. I will still have those three other mother plants inside. My system will basically be set up for a harvest every two months and then by the end of fall I will have those other females outside ready. About how tall do you think one plant will grow under good conditions in the south if it were planted this month and harvested mid october... early november??? Also does this sound like a good plan???

If you planted outside in the ground now It could easily be over 8-10 feet tall, provided you care for it properly...

it could get over 20 feet all depends on sativa indica how much sun temps how well cared for etc
and no it doesn't sound like a good plan to me keep a few mothers dedicated to that purpose alone in a veg room take clones veg clones flower those clones thats the best way hands down i wouldnt take a clone from outside your opening yourself up to SOOO MANY PEST AND DESEASES good way to wipe out a whole indoor garden is bringing outside in
