34 degrees this morning when I launched. Not a problem for me. No one else at the boat launch at 6:30am on a Thursday lol.

Very aggressive striper. 28 inches. Tons of fun on a LMB setup 15 lb fluorocarbon and a finesse Jig.

Curious. Do you ever use the tried and true old Gibbs minnow? I always rocked a 2 oz.
they work killer for the salmon when over them too, it’s all we use while jigging on the Moke for salmon but i’ve caught shitloads of stripers around the Delta while getting jiggy with it. Usually in chartreuse.

I fish spoons deep. But can't say I have used that particular one.

This a 2nd season I've not landed any salmon ;-)
It's not through lack of trying i fished 100s of hours for them but never connected with anything, it wasn't the greatest season for rain but towards the end of the season we had some great water to fish, in past years I've caught 8/12 a season, i can fish more hours now than i ever could and I've caught less fish.

2020 work was carried out further down the system, to my protest the river was closed, netted and the the pass removed just approaching the peak of the salmon run..
Fkng "experts" :-(

On a more positive note i landed a beauty of a brown trout, i didn't weight it but i know it's the biggest wild brown I've caught.

That is a beautiful fish!
All our browns around here are wild & the former world record came from "our river" 42+ lbs.
Congrats, that fish is as large or larger than my PB thus far for a Brown.

3/6. Pretty windy from the west right in the face 45km/hr gusts @ -2 feels like -7 (wind chill) made it a tough day but managed to land a bunch in a couple hours before I broke off one too many times and called it a day. One didn't make the pic reel due to a botched net job by yours truly. But I still count it. Touched the net. It's in. Lol
Lotta these cookie cutters around. Missed a good 4 whacks too. Ah well there's always the next time....

Pretty healthy looking rainbow, wouldn't take many to make a hardy dinner. Stockers or natural population?

Prob both. We stock alot, and so does the states (actually they stock way more)
And yes I kept 2 yest for the smoker (plus the skeins)
The bigguns are coming, lotta egg eaters right now. If it ain't min 10lbs it's just perch fishing lol
In your previous batch of pic's I noticed one with a clipped Pec, so that was obviously a stocker?
