long story short I was ever so thankful to be given some seeds from a batch of Heath's Black Rose. Was able to have the chance to cross with Green Crack and out of some 25+ seeds that grm'd, I ended up with one super duper female!!!

I have now been runing this girl for roughly a year, working out the kinks as I go. Had some issues in the beginning due to poor pH equipment, water quality, etc.

I have ran a few next to each other and tested out different nutes to see what she seemed to like the best...so what is listed above seems to be working the best...well as of now!!!


She seems to be pulling 5-10% amber right between 45-50 days...doesnt do to bad for yeild either...not the heaviest...but it does me just fine for some solid purple!!

anyways she's shottin out some nanners at around week 4-5.....and it sucks. Now I ended up flowering my mother and shes at 4.5 right now and blowing out some HUGE nanners....so I pick them with tweezers and bag-n-tag them....but I just noticed some seeds starting to appear towards the top colas!!!!!!!!!!

Any ideas.. I really wanna make myself believe that Im doing something to cause this...and over the past few months it has calmed down...but not completely gone. Alot of it went away with the pH being balanced back to normal...but not completely.

I would really hate to give up this beautiful monster...shes just so sexy!!!

the black rose beans were probably femmed that somebody had made themselves, it seems the obvious answer to me. using fem seeds to breed with is not the correct way of doing things imo.


he did hand the beans out to a few growers but that was near a decade ago and i think most who received them used them in breeding projects so the chances that you had a proper reg seed of the black rose to breed with is questionable (though i am certainly not calling you a liar). in all honesty though i have smoked real black rose, and i didn't much care for the taste or effects, it does posses a good colour trait for breeding though.

have you completed multiple cycles without seeing any nanners? if not then i would just move on to another strain because nothing is worth seeded bud, at least from a commercial stand-point.

Thanxx for the reply....I do know the seeds were in fact reg's....had popped 11 of just the black rose and was lucky to get 2 fems. the first one didnt have any problems...but every one after that has had the same issue. Its coming in around 5.5wks....but then its 100%cloudy and amber at 6-6.5 so I just keep running it...havent had any seeds yet...but I also take the time to got pull the nanners nad bag them....figured why the heck not...save for a rainy day .

just found my very first seed as I was sitting here..... gonna crack it and see what happens!!!!

Now please correct me if im wrong...but if I take that pollen and put it onto another female strain....it will then make feminised seeds???

most certainly, the seed you have should be a good imitation of the plant it came from.

So im back at it again, and i ended up playing with the seeds and the pollen.

So last i posted i had some pollen and seeds, so i popped the seeds and had 2 fem'd. I then let them go an during flower i took the nanners that were dried out and crushed into powder and put them onto one small branch roughly in the middle and put one of those pollen bags around it. I did this about 3wks into flower.

Lone behold when i pulled for chop, that branch had roughly 15-20 nice looking seeds only later to find out most were damn near hollow. So after i picked the nicest one out it ended up being a female and she was so sexy. I then took the pollen and did the entire process over again.

So now here i am..... I ended up having some ventilation issues right after i do all this fun pollen seed breeding stuff and lose 3/4 of everything because my fans all shutoff during the summer month for roughly 2 days and when i went in..... Everything but 2 clones were dead and cooked crispy!!! The water res had hit 90' and the temp was anywhere from 92-128..... 128 being when all the lights were on and no air moving whatsoever!!!! So needless to say everyone knows what happens when you boil your dwc setups.
So now im back in motion with a decent schedule and wanna see how far I can go with this drop dead sexy strain!!!

The smells and the look from this strain is something else. The smell is fruity almost like a grape but has that almost wine or fermented smell as well. The taste on the otherhand reminds me of a floral. And the effects are awesome!!! Nice and relaxing across your entire body, almost a narcotic type feel to it. You lose all ambition to do anything, great for kicking back with a book or movie, great late night smoke.

So now im gonna start to journal a couple grows with this strain as much as I possibly can.... Ill start by posting a couple pics. The first is one in veg, roughly 3wks in....getting pretty close to getting thrown into flower. The second pic is of one already 3wks in as well. These are the ones created from the nanners and seeds from the first issue awhile ago. So far so good!! The one in flower inwas using as a mother for a little bit so it has its Bonsai look to it and im nkt expecting much from ber, but the when thats vegging now has some nice branching and stalks going for her, so im hoping for the best!!!

Here is the mother after i cut a bunch of clones from it, and she is also about 3 wks into flower.... So far so good. I did notice a bit of yellowing going on a 1 or 2 fan leaves.... Very slowly going away.... So i just flushed everything out and gave a good scrubdown plus a refill of 3/4 dose of nutes. Havent had any more yellowing so far but only time will tell. Its a little difficult to see the coloring in the flower but ill take some more pics before the lights come on.... That way it can show her sexy colors to ya guys!!!

So i was able to get my hands on a clone of some True Blueberry.... Now im thinking I wanna punsome of this BR Nanner pollen on the blueberry to see what i can do...
