Is the migro400 any good for a 4x4 - 5x5 tent

has anyone on here had much experience with the migro’s led. Thinking on maybe opting out for the migro400 that replaces a 600watt hps

I haven't and for $930 I never will.

On their own website a 600 watt HPS beats them at growing power. It looks like a quality light but damn expensive for what it actually does.

yh it’s pretty steep haha but for convenience sake I’m strongly thinking about it if I hear it yields good results

Leds make a lot of claims, like that dweeb at a party who when you say you managed to jump three dustbins on your skateboard he has already done four - learn to avoid this stuff and these dweebs in life :-)

Great lights just exspensive and overhyped - yours even more so at over two bucks a watt.

Ages ago we were told these would be the future and cheap - well that never happened and since then hps and cmh have had another stab at the market and done pretty well there and here without having to belittle the competition like that kid at the party.

Sure you will love that light if you buy it byt mainly loads of led users will turn up and throw another ten cheaper options at you :-)

The Migro is a much nicer light than anything timber has and that's not to take a shot at timber. The Migro is using newest gen luminus cobs which are the most efficient on the market. They are even more efficient than QBs depending on how hard you run them.

Aside from efficiency, the build is just fantastic. Really cool design and those cob mounts are really great as you can direct them. Pretty sure it's water proof too.

Finally, Shawn from Migro does a ton for the growing community. Check his YouTube channel out for some unbiased reviews of many of the best lights on the market.

Now would I buy his lights. Probably not because it's a little too much money for me. If money were no object I would consider them for sure.

Did you end up with the timber. They are great fixtures no doubt but the cobs they use are no longer the most efficient. Other options are rapid led/chilled pucks, QBs, Atreum lighting. These companies offer great diy kits that are very easy to build, well priced and great quality.

OP ... what’s your budget, cuz I’m sure there is many options open for that price.

If you want COBS .... there is a prebuilt rig from Hortibloom ... runs 4 Citizen cobs , meanwell power , full heat sink and glass lenses for $179.00 and free ship. It’s a steal for 240w each. Bar configuration. LUMA B4
Cheaper than building yourself.


Grab 2 and call it a day.

My budget is in the ball park of 1500-2000 euro, I would like a led just because the low energy consumption. And at that I wanna have one the can match a 600w power with a nice spread. Tbh I was thinking on eBaying one and asking to blank box it when shipping or just pay the extra in my home country which is kinda expensive for everything ha nevertheless I do appreciate all the replies and I am going windowshoping today for the bits n bob :hump: won’t lie kinda excited

Well for that budget you can get whatever you fancy and the Migro setup makes sense in this case . The frame and heatsinks are well built and down the road you can always swap out for the newest, most efficient cobs if you choose or add a couple migro 100s onto it. Not sure exactly where your from but being european, the shipping from Ireland probably isn't too bad

Others to look at are Rapid, Fluence, HLG, Amare Solar 8 etc... All great options and all extremely efficient. Choose the one that you think looks best or has the coolest features more or less.

@DangerDavez I’m very tempted by the migro100s. but I’m caught between a rock and a hard place. I don’t mind dishing out on a good light setup as long as it has low consumption rates with high lumen/spread with the power of a 600w or more then get ill cheap out on a tent, nice inlines and good soil and I’ll be happy with that. I’d love to try the migro but a I’m stronglythinking on a LED’s, I just can’t deiced
