They didn't have the dual analog timer at Petco :-( so I got the single analog one and I must say I'm very pleased with it. Not only does it have 2 more outlets then my old power strip it also takes up the same amount of space in my cab. I did some cable management and it looks a lot nicer in there, it also helps that I don't have a bulky digital timer sticking out.

Good looking out bro. :joint:
Its online only at petco, I saw that when I checked online.

petSMART has them in store in stock at my location! thats where i found it!! check with the reptile section. which is right next to the fish stuff, which is why i got a new airpump haha... it was too close to what i needed... proximity wins. :bigjoint: anyway, there were two on the rack, mine plus one more... two of the digi as well, which leads me to believe its a well stocked brand and item... also saw a CFL hood..

CFL Hood

not the fixture i saw, but close... really check out the reptile equipment haha. its inspiring a possible future DIY.. micro grow in soil reptile cage!!!! we'll see about that.. haha

:peace:

looking forward to the new pics dude i harvest tomorrow
THE O.D.?? either one is exciting.

ON WITH THE UPDATE!!
So it's a full house in the AG all 6 have rooted, and I don't have the heart to ditch any... although my brother has a little space somewhere... I might try to sweet talk him into an O.D. for the strongest... maybe... at any rate here they are!!

Meet Filberta;

her sister Annie;

and the other sister, Rosario.

The other girls you know.. (in order of Appearance Baby Taco, Lisa, and Olivia)

Alright girls huddle up group shot!!!

With all the pretty pictures aside, let's talk some shop folks! As you can see Lisa is a leggy bitch, and soon Olivia will be the same. I'm considering cutting back to the first node, possibly across the board, all plants. Then 24 hours dark tomorrow, and 12/12?? I've learned recently these sativas continue to veg/stretch during the first couple weeks of "flower". So cutting back would be a good idea? (remember I have a height restriction)

At any rate, later today i'm doing a res change, and switching from the Flora series, to the FloraNova. Starting out at transition strength, 50/50 Grow/Bloom. I'll be using the Floralicious Grow micronutrients till i see pre-flowers, to encourage some healthy leaf growth during the transition phase. (BTW I added a dose of grow micronutrient the other day, looked like they could use it and uh.. i was right)

So now your thoughts, comments, ideas, concerns, praise... or just whatever...

:peace:

just did a res change, as planned 50-50 Grow/Bloom and Grow Micro. concerns...

1-When dumping the old solution i surveyed the roots and airstones... airstones had a brownish/black slime coating them.
the roots looks PERFECT! aside from discoloration from nutrient solution, impeccable. anybody know anything about nutrients leaving a coating on stones??

2-I ran out of calibration solution, and added a few drops of pH UP to solution, usually needs about the amount added. although i've heard FloraNova has buffers
to correct pH to proper. anybody know anything about that??

moving along... i kicked back the light timer two hours in preparation for the 24 hour dark tomorrow! question!! should i top after the dark or before???
i hear the sativa blood running through her leaves will keep her veg'ing through 12/12 (and i witnessed it first hand with the mama) so any concerns about topping after 12/12 on a very vigorous grower of a sativa??

Yea cleaning off your airstone every time you change your res is a good idea.

Thats how I got root rot, my airstone was coated in big bloom goodness and wasn't bubblin' enough to keep my ladies from drowning.

my clones are already sexing.. guess thats what happen when you cut clones in the first week of flower. so anyhow, they went on 12/12 with 50-50 Grow-Bloom nutes.... so i guess after a week i'll be on full strength bloom and hopefully LST'ing most of them. i plant to top one down to the 2nd node, its tall and i want to see what happens to the one. the rest are a good height so i won't top them. just LST the shorter clones...

You should try it all bro.

Try different stuff on all the plants.

Leave one, try LST on one, top one, fim one, give 'em the works.

They are all clones from the same plant, yes? So.. if you do different shit that will be a good indicator of what works best for you, no?

Unless you are really hell bent on trying to pound the most bud out of this AG grow as possible. :roll:

Shack, can you enlighten me on the 24hr dark period? I've read about it but can't quite grasp the concept. How does it benefit the plant?

i can't give a truly definitive answer about it, from what i've heard, it basically prepares the plant for flowering under 12/12. i dont know truly know why, i hear it is the thing to do if you plan to force a plant to show sex earlier than it wants to.

from what little i remember, there is a hormone, and it isn't truly a "hormone" as we know them in the human body... whatever it is exactly (we'll call it a hormone) it is created and stored up during dark periods. hence why during 12/12 a plant will flower, and under 18/6 it will not. giving a plant 24 hours of dark essentially builds up a large storehouse of this hormone, and when 12/12 comes it can't help but start to show signs of its sex.

i hope that helps, i'm not 100% there are more experienced growers checking this thread, maybe they can enlighten.

I posted the same thing as this, then I edited it to the one about being too high...
