My plants are about a month old..In FFOF soil, watering with well water ph’ed to 6.3-6.5. They have been doing pretty well, but i recently noticed some spots that are starting to worry me...
Thank you!

What are you feeding them. How often. Do you use any Epsom salts I use them periodically to help with soil and root health it keeps lock outs and deficiencies at bay.

could it be that parts of the soil are hydrophobic causing lockouts? they’re due for a drink so i’ll give them a nice slow soak
Possibly the ffof is so inconsistent it’s big business pushing product to keep the shelves full. Do you do any amendments or use liquid nutes. I would try the Epsom salt and next watering start my food at 1/4 strength.

I dont think it is PH in that soil either. I run mine up to 6.8 and even 7.0 in roots organics. I assume they were grown from seeds.
At that stage I begin to feed them some nutes. They will begin to need nitrogen soon. Fox Farm may be a little different than my soil in that regard.
It looks like moisture stress to me. Either from dryness close to the light or dry soil or both. Mainly from the looks of the curled leaf margins. I would check the soil for moisture level in those plants.

That is my 1st hunch................ but those babies look great now

thanks, yeah I’m gonna give them a nice drink and dim the lights a tad and see how they respond. i’ve only just recently been ph’ing my water as I found out my wells water is at 8.5 and i thought that was way too high

I haven’t been feeding them anything yet as, I was thinking of doing a light epsom water...
If you're using well water have you had it tested? Chances are you have more than adequate amounts of magnesium. Adding more could actually be detrimental. But without a water quality analysis there's no way to know what's in your water.

If you have hard water which you likely do you don't need to be adding magnesium or calcium. You might think about getting an RO system depending on your water quality.

Yeah I think you’re right, I can see white minerals floating around when I pour a glass from the sink...I was actually using bottled spring water until about a week ago and they seemed to be doing just fine then..

If you're on well water you should get it tested regularly if you're using it for drinking and cooking as there could be bacteria and heavy metals in it. You should be able to call your health department for a list of labs that can test it for you or you can search for one yourself in your area. Knowing what's in your water is good information to have. I'm on a municipal water system and they post the results online but well users will need to get their own tests done.
