The switch from mh veg to Hps flower

Just wondering if there is any info supporting leaving the mh thru stretch or part way of even longer after the flip or before for that matter ???? 1000 mh 4000 k bulb aircooled hood to 1000 hps ???

I say info but your guys experience is what I want

Well in my 30 years of growing I have a lot of experience. I prefer to go with the HPS during stretch because I actually want my plants to stretch and get big. I believe that stretch makes for yield. Bigger buds. If I was limited on space I would consider the metal halide during stretch.

I should also note that I like to use HPS during veg because I want stretch there too. Suits my style of growing. I like to top once at like 4 or 5 nodes and let the resulting branches get about 2 feet long and then I spread them out horizontally under a trellis and let the nodes pop branches that will become my colas in flower.

I use a mh for the 1st two weeks then over to hps specifically to prevent stretch.
Pots not rooted out properly, humidity, heat and lack of light intensity can cause some stretching too.
Fwiw I give them a 24/36 hrs dark period before 12/12, so when the veg light goes off on the final day the plants are sat in darkness for a minimum of 24 hours then they only see 12/12

it's funny @Renfro I just read a post last night from 2019 after using th e search engine lol and as soon as I read it I said yup that's all I needed to see lol really appreciate you taking the time man to give me some help it's not something I take lightly !!!! After two years of reading my ass off here ,I can say with 100% certainty that when I see info you have given I have no doubts in my mind when f following it or keeping it in my fat head for future reference and I am very sceptical when it comes too info online thank you
