Trump's Georgia arraignment expected to be televised, Fulton County judge says

The state judge overseeing former President Trump’s Georgia case ruled that cameras will be allowed in the courtroom for the defendants’ arraignments, marking the first time that one of Trump’s criminal proceedings will be televised.

Trials in Georgia are televised so we should see the whole spectacle on TV because coverage will be wall to wall. There is the tantalizing prospect of Donald appearing for his TV trial while in custody since it is expected that Jack's case in DC will be finished before the more complex one in Georgia begins. This will be the most consequential trial as far as the public is concerned and a major humiliation for Trump, he might be the only one among the defendants in the box wearing orange, or the jail coverall color of the day. Donald could be a convicted felon in custody awaiting sentencing by the time he is on trial in Georgia.

I'd look for a fight over him getting on the republican primary ballot and then the general election ballot, there is a very strong 14th amendment case to be made to disqualify him from the state ballots. However, that fight will have to be fought when he actually applies to run in a primary or the general election and conservative legal opinion does not favor Trump, neither does liberal opinion. It will end up in the courts, who can disqualify him, but can't reinstate him on the ballot, that takes a 2/3s majority in both houses of congress. They will need to set standards because magats will be disqualifying Biden too, over nothing.

Ehh

Team "Nothings Gonna Happen" is still accepting applicants. :bigjoint:
Donald is going to prison and so are a few others, he is also likely to be disqualified from the general election by the 14th amendment, if he manages to win the GOP primaries while on trial over J6 in DC or found guilty there. Donald will be in court from the new year until beyond election day in 24 and might end up in jail pretrial if he doesn't STFU!

Trump's lawyers push for April 2026 trial in DC election theft case, & Jack Smith pushes back, hard.

Donald Trump's lawyers made an absurd request of Judge Tanya Chutkan, asking her to put off Trump's DC trial for attempting to overturn the results of the presidential election until April 2026.

Special Counsel Jack Smith and his team of federal prosecutors just filed their reply, and they debunked and/or put in accurate context the ridiculous claims Trump's lawyers dumped into their court filing.

In reading Smith's 6-page court filing, it becomes crystal clear that, in Smith and his team, we the people have a fierce advocate for a speedy trial, for the rule of law, and for the pursuit of justice. And justice matters.

A pivotal turn in the classified document case unfolds as a key witness against former President Donald Trump and his co-defendants recants false testimony. Yuscil Taveras, identified as "Trump Employee 4," altered his account regarding attempts to delete security camera footage at Mar-a-Lago. Taveras' change from a private lawyer paid for by Trump's Save America PAC to a public defender prompted the revision, leading to a superseding indictment against Trump and co-defendants.

He represents actual conservative legal opinion, and many judges are conservative, the rest are liberal and agree. J6 and the conspiracies are crimes and insurrection, not politics.
