VIRedd you seem to consistently ignore the facts or skew/spin them in a way that is favorable to your stance. This approach is the hallmark problem that keeps republicans from being legitmate today. A cottage industry has arisen to propagate this myopic and unilateral perspective thanks to Rush Limbaugh and Foxnews. The republican mantra seems to be exploitation, selective misinterpretation, lies and more lies. I mean seriously, republicans have their own media because they only want to hear what they want to hear regardless of facts, and then they slander all the unbiased media outlets or any source that contradicts their selective interpretations as part of the "liberal media elite". If you republicans had your druthers foxnews would be the only news and as a litmus test to my assertion that your an intolerant communist, replace the word "republican" with "Soviet" and all the above statements are still just as true. The truth hurts, doesn't it.
Actually, I think the thing that keeps the Soviets from being legitimate today is the actions of Ronald Reagan who got them to try racing the US in an arms race they were doomed to lose.

That's an astute observation. The Soviet Union collapsed because their spending was grossly disproportionate to the amount of real capital they had. Doesn't that sound familiar?

Damned skippy it does.

But they did have other issues aid in their collapse. But then again we have our 'other issues' to deal with.

I can think of several.

1. Social Security
2. Medicare
3. Medicaid
4. Department of H&HS
5. The Rest of Government

I think the problem is that the government is not focused on results, but focused on being a jobs program.

Though, I want to add an additional item to that.

0. Congressional and Senatorial Staffs.

HAHA like I said fox=republican mouthpiece. Their polls are always more faorable to McCain and show him losing by a smaller margin than any other media source. You would never get a republican to admit to this though...that would be like trying to get McCain to stop sneering while Obama speaks.

On Thursday, Sarah Palin said that there are "pro-America areas" of our country - and cities like Washington D.C. definitely don't fit the bill. Then on Friday, Rep. Michele Bachmann called for a McCarthy-style investigation into whether Democratic members of Congress are anti-American.

From what I read today 3 out of 4 Americans are scared and stressed about the shape this country is in. That's pretty disgruntled if you ask me. I think the "pro-America" areas can be determined by bank account balances.

so you think the higher ranking slaves are more content then? i guess you have to be high enough so that you didnt just loose all the ground you thought you had on the lesser slaves

I would guess that those with the big bank accounts are less stressed. It's also a coincidence that those big bank account people also tend to be the ones running the country. So I guess that basically means if you are in office you are content, if you aren't in office you are feeling screwed.

any idea what %'s are for ppl in office to the whole population? i would think that number too small to have the rest non-contents a la "let them eat cake" kinda thing

I heard like 15 million government workers thrown around, so like 5% (15/300 Million)

Maybe 5.5%

I don't know.

Though I think there's only 150 Million in the work force so that's 10% of the work force, but the number for the total number available in the work force might be larger than it should be. I don't know for sure what it is.

I was wondering how you would adapt to a obama presidency...how would you make the best of it........
How would I make the best of an Obama presidency, well seeing as how I'm not in the top 1% of the nation I suspect that not much would change for me.

Unless I'm forced to pay for health care insurance, which would have a negative effect on my plans to pay for my own retirement instead of being forced into trusting the government to do the same.

No, I suspect that if I truly felt threatened I'd surrender my Sorento, save up a few grand and move to the Ukraine or Georgia, or maybe Russia.

:: shrugs :: Life is a game, and the dice have no memory.
