the truth behind girl scout cookies

My favourite thread on any forum!

I think I have come to the right place to ask this. But I have never tried verified GSC (although they have thin mint at cookies Melrose last time I checked... Might have to get some of that sent to me in hope of a bag seed and to try the real deal holyfield from the fat man himself). I have only ever tried imposter cookies... Or shit that has been sold to me as cookies. But honestly, I believe it was cookies. I smelt it, and it smelt like a chocolate mint candy (the kind they put on your pillow at a hotel... Or an after eight if you are from europe). Honestly, it's the most pleasant, mouth watering aroma I've ever smelt from the dried plant. Sherb etc is cool but there is something about thin mint man (Scent was somewhat subtle also it didn't absolutely stink of mint and chocolate bit it was undeniably there).

Luckily I found a seed in one of the buds (stems absolutely reeked of this insane, deep fruity aroma in early veg) Popped it, grew it out and give it to my dad for safe keeping. He fucked it up and now its gone forever. I loved it. Only problem is, I can't fucking find it again. Nobody has cookies where I am from. I can get literally everything but original cookies. But I just want that minty chocolate heaven. That's all I want! It's like losing a really good girlfriend. You try all the other offerings and realise you done fucked up letting that shit slip.

Anyway... What is my best option in terms of seeds for that sweet, chocolate mint cookie? I am hoping others on here can maybe point out which pheno (if possible) I am referring to as the whole spicy incense thing really wasn't that apparent to me. It was definitely sweeter... At least on the nose. I can't remember all of the nuances to the taste as this was a good few years ago. But I sure do remember that smell.

Here are a few I know of:
Cali Connection (Currently running - Day 1 of flower)
Elev8
TH Seeds (French Cookies - Platinum Pheno apparently)
Sin City - Sin Mint Cookies
BC Bud Depot

I am definitely forgetting some on the list.

My gut is telling me they are all bullshit and I won't get the results I desire. I just need guidance (and hopefully this can serve as a map for others looking to wade their way through the bullshit).

What is the best option for seed form girl scout cookies? Does that exist? Am I wasting my time?

Also are any of those original breeders you guys mentioned on any of these forums? Anybody at all to do with the story? Is there any way we can talk to these people or is there anybody here with connections to them in any way shape or form? Feel stupid even asking that question as they just seem so completely out of reach. And most likely are for random forum goers like myself. But hey, without the beak the bird don't eat.

My final question... And honestly... The most important. What are some of your guys' favourite strains to grow besides from GSC?
I'm looking for nothing but exceptional. The whole dank and nothing but the dank. It could be a cookie cross that you think is actually better than the original (or maybe not even better, just stunning) a landrace, an indica or sativa (I like dense indica nugs though airy buds piss me off... has to be off the charts crazy flavour for me to accept foxtails). I don't have access to licensed nurseries or dispensaries for clones so please bare that in mind.

To be completely honest, I feel lost. All this designer, hype stuff Is great and all but it's kind of exhausting keeping up with the jones'. I'm a little overwhelmed... Mainly because I don't know who or what to trust or believe.

Thanks guys.

Out of the seeds you got/know of sin mint cookies v2 would be your best bet imo.

SIN MINT Cookies is closest to the real thin mints, I wouldn’t waste my time on those other ones. I’ve had some of the first batches of thin mints back in the days and the first time I tried Sin Mint Cookies from a cannabis club in Vegas back in 2017 it was reminiscent of the first time I ever smoked the original cookies but the only difference it had was a slightly citrus woody taste on the back end. Other than that I would say Animal Mints (Animal Cookies x Sin Mint Cookies) bred by seedjunky is your best bet if you’re able to find a clone

Kind of unreal how many trendy/hype strains are from bag seed. Does that mean accidents make the best weed? Maybe so.
Hahaha ya so they say....easiest way to not explain what exact genetics was used, it was found as a bagseed. How did this thread get dug up??? Go to 1st page, something along the lines of gsc coming from cheap elbows from a light leaked/stress induced herm flower of cherry pie kush sounds about right to me, also known as> came from bagseed. Lol

Don't take this personally, but that's a really hard to swallow story.

A Durban cut so special no one except those making the sketchy claims supposedly have ever seen? If it's so special, they would be selling it... special cuts make you a lot of money. Especially sativa doms. Sure they might hold it, but someone else would have seen it.

The story Greenghost posted rings so much truer... explains the color, the smells you can get from S1's, the structure... everything... there is nothing OG like about GSC structure at all (except that it produces golf balls).
The one thing I will say is that you need to be asking the growers that are also Geneticists if they have both the Sativa and Indica Dom variants of Durban Poison. I spent 5 years getting PhDs specifically on Cannabis Genetics and correlations to The Human Genome and GSC does IN FACT have the original Sativa dominant Durban Poison.
Greenghost has most of the genetics down and honestly if you know the right person that has the right Genetics and Evolution background the “secret F1 Durban” is in fact a fractal strain that is Indica dominant Durban Poison and the landrace strain Nepalese. Travel to Nepal late summer and early fall and if you’re lucky both Durban Poison and Nepalese still grow there both INTACT in there genetics and crossed. Don’t do what I did unless you want to and smuggle it back but it’s fractal DNA Structure ALWAYS shows 2 DNA STRAINS INDEPENDENT of one another but within the same plant. It’s a true CHIMERA, being both male and female because of the harsh climate it survives in. Both drop seed during the winter, they go into stasis until they naturally germinate in the late spring/summer flowering in late summer and early fall. If anyone says that GSC is unstable it is because the “Unspoken” strain retains 100% dominant traits, which passes on its chimera trait of auto fertilization to every generation after it. Punnet Square the strain out and to the 256th generation that trait when grown and allowed to be crossed in a STERILE lab environment remains dominant. With the addition of Cherry Pie - CPK, both of which carry SPECIFIC genetic bundles along their respective DNA when run to 10 trillion base pairs also keep their dominance and pass on the dominant trait to auto flower. Knowledge and education aside, DNA Genetics has done what they could but advancement in microbiology, genetics, nature vs nurture, and proven evolutionary theory have surpassed them.
People fall into this industry as I did in 2002 and sometimes forget what their real goal was and or is, and I always kept my role very scientific. Yes I’ve flown under the radar for years but I’ve been able to obtain original landrace strains and their genes are by far hardier and resilient to anything that anyone today crosses or backcrosses. R1’s are proof of that because those are creations where Genetics force the strain to give off their dominance. However if put into an environment where it’s Genes (all living organisms genes are greedy, they have a want to propagate and nothing more) don’t feel the need or want to propagate because they are ideal and you begin to see their recessive traits pushed out. I was thankful to have advisors from Oxford, Harvard, MIT, UCLA, UC Davis, Stanford, U of Arizona, UT, Texas A&M, Universado de Mexico, University of Toronto and a handful of others guide me to a Focal Point. I had and still have some of the most accredited Geneticists, Agro-Biologists, Agricultural Scientists, Environmental Scientists, Micobiologists, Botanists, Chemists and other highly regarded scientists of the last 30 decades to talk with, shadow, question and postulate with to give me different variables, paths and constantly put me within a everlasting maze that has allowed me to Theorize and Prove my Theories and settle amongst these findings.
However know this, in a constantly changing world and an industry where more often than not regulation controls what people breed and cross-breed for ascetics, general pleasure to the palate, to the eye, science falls by the wayside but Science is forever changing, certain OGs have slowly become endangered, even pure Diesel strains are hard to find along with pure GDP, and numerous other strains because farmers, growers, extractionists, & sellers gave people what they wanted and left very little time if any to do strain hunting, wild growth hunting, genetics and numerous other scientific capabilities due to demand. Genetic Modification at the DNA level is absolutely plausible, because I’ve successfully repeated the process with 178 different strains and strain variations, created 100% pest, mold and fungus resistant strains through genetic splicing without introducing synthetic or recombinant DNA into their DNA. Barcoding that is inert is also possible as I have done that too, in numerous strains in multiple labs around the world. DNA mapping strains to find the best genetic match to human DNA has also been done and in the future you’ll see publication of mine and others dissertations, a easy to read and understand How To book, novel for the novice and expert grower and everyone in-between. I didn’t get into this industry for notoriety, fortune or fame, I will always hold Medicinal Use far more important than Recreational use, and I will always believe in non-profit over profit. It’s why the Lord blessed me with more than just scientific prowess so I could obtain other degrees for my careers, and continue what will be the absolute future.
I do what I do now and started my studies and experimentation as dedication for the ones I’ve loved and lost to terminal illness and/or illness in general and for those that continue to fight today with those same illnesses, terminal or not. I pray that the industry backtracks and begins to realize with legality comes control and not everyone for legality and control is doing so to favor you, they are doing it to line pockets and gain entry into either the 1% or upper echelon, so when you see commercialized marijuana sitting right next to those prescriptions we loathe remember we had and RIGHT NOW still have a chance/choice to change this industry.

I’d love to talk to people, teach them what has been taught to me, as a lawyer or a multi-doctorate scientist I’m an open book and I’m still learning but everyone has to start somewhere. As Neil deGrasse Tyson says “teaching leads to learning and that learning can lead to knowledge and if you continue to question and ask questions your knowledge becomes wisdom.”

While we are on this topic anyone know how did the ogkb mutation start in cookies ? I really want to know what DNA causes those crazy plants.

Sorry but...a glass lid on a washing machine?!?! That's a first for me. Its about time tho lol.

I've got some GSC that seems to stretch about 1.5x-2x. Mines from ILGM so who knows what it really is.

Dude honestly the ogkb phenos even though they can produce fire are a pain in the ass.

I like when the mutation doesn't show up fully in pheno, more like it's a slight ogkb expression. For instance I have a meat breath cut that shows it slightly with a bit of a crinkle leaf, also a few other things. Now if you get a full on ogkb mutation in a pheno I find they can be one of the slowest vegging plants ever. Like to the point where they're not even worth it to grow> not all ogkb phenos are like this but a decent amount are. If you've grown em, you know. Their nodes can grow all fucked up and uneven as well. I grew a dvg foul mouth that was a full ogkb pheno. Was absolute fire but wouldn't grow it again. Some like the ogkbs... like growing it but to me the juice ain't worth the squeeze especially when I can get just as good, if not better fire with healthy phenos that aren't slugs in veg.

Thay last pic is an ogkb variant pheno if I ever seen one... that's a cut I take it. The duck foot fan leaves..feel like some of em grow out of it slightly. That's why I like the when a it shows the mutant variant slightly. Feel like that fat duck foot fans can be a little better but sometimes noticed they looked better as seed plants.
I always forget seedjunky worked with sincity seeds heavy. Sincity seeds built their seedjunkys mint strains.

I’m hitting the mom with garlic breath 2.0 pollen to make seeds for fun. trying to get a vigorous female.
Dude hit the mom with garlic breath pollen, pop the beans that are made and find a male from that batch. Then you would be making a legit crosses if you created a fire male.
