I topped it yesterday before bed. She doesnt care. The growth in the waterfarm surprises me everyday. I had to reach in and pull out some growth she was growing tightly together and i didnt realize it now its a bush. 15730058022428459126848951494683.jpg1573005829332870853601513013034.jpg15730057175708876636533972748391.jpg

Also the stem is thick as fuck. I tried to get a good pic but i will when I trim later. Its as thick as my thumb though, crazy. Glad i stuck to a waterfarm. Going to have to add back the plant is eating nutes and sucking back water. Much more efficiently but i will up it a little bit next rez change. I think shocking it with the 700 ppm nute solution made her used to a high nute solution, which i have had before happen in bubble buckets. I will only go up 50 ppm though to 350 ppm. Im in awe of how fast the waterfarm works.

Ppm 157 yesterday i added water with some nutes it only upped it like 50 ppm to 210 ppm.

Looks like small deficiency has appeared but i cant tell if that is just aftermath. I will let it go. Plant is taking off, though its only getting another week in veg before i flip. Its tightly packed together. I let it get a little warmer i think she was cold a bit. Rez change tomorrow.

International cannagraphic has the best sick plant guide that I've found, I'd favorite it, roots look good

I did a rez change

320ppm

Whats weird is that i notice when cleaning the buckets, is that the top bucket has a little inch or so of water. It looked alot darker than the rest, like the nutes collected there. So instead from now on i will just feed water or do a rez change instead of add back. Although i mixed it well i dont think it mixed well with the older water for whatever reason. I should have taken a ppm reading of that inch of water to be sure. Im almost certian its nute burn.....again.....lol i will get this down. Getting back in the growing game and balancing life is challenging. 8 years ago i had nothing but time.

It's likely nutrient build up in your hydroton from when you went rogue. You might have done some damage to your roots zone there as well, which would account for the discoloration. You'll be good at hydro when you let the plant tell you what to do, instead of the other way around.

Cut off the leaves that have nute burn. Really exposed the under growth. I think the plant made huge fan leaves to shield whats underneath. The pics dont to justice the plant is huge you can see all the offshoots from the stem.20191108_184134.jpg

Anyway despite my mistakes, the plant is thriving.

Ppm 302 (the plant drank 3 gallons so now i have 2 buckets. I just switch them out.) Undergrowth is exploding out. Made the right decision to trim.

looks real good, are you planning to train her at all? lst, fim, top or scrog ? Or you gonna grow a Christmas tree, which would be appropriate considering the season :weed:

Im going to scrog. But this will be my first time doing it. So it will be a learning experience. Read Scottyballs grow diary again and also some other tutorials. Net will get made next week i finally have some time off from my hectic work schedule. Plus if you would like to chime in on anything during it, I would be greatful. Or any other tutorials you follow?

I'm all about chiming in :P, it's always the same for me, the plant dictates the response. The goal with a scrog is to end up with a flat even canopy, Scotty was AWSOME at this JZS is too, I end up using a combo of lst (tying the bitch down:hump:) and super cropping (pinching her into submission) with the goal being to spread her out and weave her through the screen to get that super flat canopy, so that growth hormones are distributed evenly instead of favoring the ones closest to the light. With your gal going straight up you might want to think about bending her over a lil with lst, just to get her to start taking up some horizontal space, it'll give some of those side branches a chance yo move up towards the light as well. I'd be interested to hear JZS take on what he'd do, his scrogs look pretty sexy 8) and well managed, I'm hoping to emulate what he's doing.

So when i lay the screen down, bend her over then correct? Shes well rooted in the hydroton so im not worried. Then everything that grows up in the screen during the stretch i just put back under the scrog for the first 3 weeks??? Sounds so easy but you guys make it look like art!! JZS where are you buddy??? Im off work for a week so i will be reviewing some threads. Dr Ambers looks really good right now i was looking at his even though he doesnt comment anymore after i fucked up, i still respect his grow and knowledge. I will catch up on reading soon.

Go here to read about scrog, lst and other styles of training.

I can't tell how tall your plant is, at what height your gonna throw down your screen or how much head room you've got. But I'd say you can start lst at anytime, lst is an abbreviation for low stress training.

I'm at 32 days from seed and haven't started lst yet but I've already topped twice, so lst will be next and then the screen. But my reason is that my grow box is a rectangle 20 inches deep by 48 inches wide, so I gotta gently force her to grow in an unnatural way to maximize available space. Your plant and grow box are probably different so you gotta figure out what's best for your unique situation.

So you gotta look at your space and say, hello sexy mj plant, I know you want to grow into a xmas tree or rounded bush, but here's the shape I need you to grow in. And then apply the proper technique(s) to get her to do that. I know it's way easier said then done, but that's the trick of the whole thing.

Hey Gold,
I dont do scrogs mate but thanks for the kind words.
My method is to break the branches think its called super cropping.
In tge veg stage i get in there everyother day sometines every day an just bend the branches to keep the canopy even. I prefer this way as its easier an im lazy haha.
I use some netting jist to hold the plants up.

My bad, I'm following quite a few grows and I've always been impressed with how even your canopy is, coulda sworn I saw a screen in there, but I must be thinking of another grow. Very impressive doing that w/o a screen.

So like I was saying wind, you wanna talk to jzs about super cropping . . . . :o

Lol. Yeah u did see some netting.
Just to hold them up.
Its not hard at aĺl just go like
10 cms down the
stem starting bending an squeezing an do it all the way around the stem.
Its practice aswell. you need to get gros under your belt. Im no expert by any means just practice.
