The only thing I take issue with is that Sub was drinking a Corona. With all the great beer in California the man drinks a Corona. Surely someone in your circle of friends is also a Beer Nerd. :D

After working hard in the yard all day, enjoying a cold IPA and a bowl... well that's just California heaven right there.
craft beer starts getting heavy! lagunitas I believe is from cali, they have or had a 420 room, got raided a while back and made a beer about it with the story and such on the bottle. Good but so thick, too much sometimes/

I just wonder why no lime slice, thats makes a corona great

Says the beer novice. ;)

Just bustin' yer balls, man. But to say that "craft beer starts getting heavy" tells me that you have little experience with craft or microbrewed beer. There are all kinds of great beers brewed here in California, by small brewers.

A lot of people go with what they came up with... if you're from the south, odds are when you were in your early drinking years you drank your fair share of corona :)

At least it isn't PBA! And I was wondering about the lime also - you need to grow some limes now that you are in CA! :) Dos Equis lager is even better!

Some of us like beer. Some of us hang out here for the company, and I think this thread has loooong ago gone beyond discussing just the Weed Nerd show. Perhaps you should puff and chill and let people discuss what they want. A half a dozen posts about beer hardly constitutes a new thread.

And, I am really digging Stone's line if brews right now. :)

I am really looking forward to seeing Subcool's property this winter. I bet it's going to be fantastic. Every time I watch the videos and he shows the view from his back deck I start looking at property and running numbers. "Hmmm... if we sell this place, and can get a low cost mortgage, then live on ramen for five years, we can do it!" :D

Congratulations on baby girl!
I used to get tired of haters hitting this thread. TheMan13 isn't hater though. He was a fan placing a bulk order. He is far from a hater.

like my querkle and jack the ripper. hope to keep it that way.

my only suggestion, if a situation becomes challenging it doesn't necessarily mean the other-guy is "very difficult" to deal with... It may only feel that way temporarily. peace

In my never ending quest to learn more, I ventured into Michigan State University’s Plant and Soil Sciences building. There I found a laboratory that tests the nutrient concentration of my soil. For only $11 you can test the Macro nutrients, N-P-K. However, for $25 you can get a test for N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Na, S, Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu, B and Al. I immediately decided to test my SS and a few other composts.

This process tests the total amount of nutrients, not the readily available nutrients present. For example Nitrogen is usually absorbed in the form, NO3, but can exist in other forms such as NH3 or NH4 until it’s decomposed by bacteria into something the plant can use. Most numbers are in % of total soil, others are in ppm.

My previous SS recipe follows Sub’s very closely. I use Roots Organic as my base with the addition of 4 lbs of Kelp Meal. I found it has a Ca and Mg deficiency which was easily corrected by adding some powdered dolomite before a watering. I didn't notice any other deficiency problems with my Agent Orange run. Slight fading in last 2 weeks but I like it. Used half SS half Roots Organic.

The cow, poultry and worm composts are from Morgan Composting, a local Michigan business who makes some great cow compost called Dairy Doo. The last compost is from another local Michigan business called Hammond Farms, who makes a plant based compost.

SS = 1.6 - 0.5 - 0.2

Cow Compost = 1.7 - 0.6 - 1.8

Poultry Compost = 5.2 - 2.0 - 2.8

Worm Castings = 3.2 - 0.6 - 3.0

Plant Compost = 0.9 - 0.1 - 0.4

Here are the original reports.

Very cool. Thanks for sharing this. It shows what we all knew already, that the mix is super high N and if it has a weakness it will come in the mag area which explains they occasional use of cal-mag by SS enthusiasts.

Nice! bongsmilie
