do you support the protection of the rhinos and elephants? :blsmoke::blsmoke:

I am glad they've got people out there stopping the whalers (could care less about the whalers lives at this point) and would love to join them... because I'd proudly fight a 'war' in the name of any animal that was being abused here on this planet, just because I am human does not mean I am above any other living creature here... and when dumb fucks like the Japanese whalers go and violate an international ban on whaling, I'll be right there throwing the molotovs on the bridges of their ships.

They just need to start sinking the ships now, of course not while anyone is on board... but we've got the information on the dock's they use in Japan, sabotage baby!

And don't get me wrong, I support traditional whaling like those of the native Alaskans, I understand it is a sustenance requirement... however the Japanese do not need whales (it's a luxury food).

You're right, the Sea Shepherd's were successful in cutting the whaling season in half this year due to their great efforts... the whalers were spending much more on operating the boat/paying the crew and eventually passed the line of no profit return, thus making the decision to call back the fleet the only logical choice.

Way to go Paul Watson!

they could just order some beef.

the japanese have a culture behind eating whale as well. seems sort of hypocritical to me. a whale is a whale, no matter how nice you talk to it before you take it's life.
You see though, people in the bush are not rich... which you would have to be if you wanted to order beef out to there, very expensive to ship things to and from the bush. So ordering any kind of food is a luxury, however nature provides the food for free.

And I understand the Japanese have a culture of whale eating, however... they do not need whale to survive and it has become a luxury food in Japan, and they are also, as you said earlier... breaking the international ban on whaling in regards to making profit on whales. The natives, everyone knows why they go whaling and that is to survive. Location and availability of food have driven this way of life for far longer than the Japanese people have even been around.

Of course I do... those two specific animals are extremely complex and remind me a lot of humans.

Poachers should be KILL ON SIGHT... screw wasting money on courts and jail time, when they get out they of course go right back to the trade, so just kill them and be done with it.

They should make it so you have to kill these animals (whales, tigers, elephants) with your bare hands if you want their meat.

See what happens then..

i think you're just making shit up. eskimos are older then japan? :?

if there is a BAN on killing whales then NOBODY should kill whales. the eskimos need to learn to adapt.

we used to keep slaves. we LEARNED how not to. ;)

The Japanese culture and language go back to only about 10000 years... the native Alaskans go back 5x that... History, brodel... it's a wonderful thing.

The native Alaskans DEPEND on whaling to survive, that is a main source of food, probably how cows are the main source of food for most Americans.

Throughout history, groups of people who DEPEND on a source of food that has been banned for most groups have always been allowed to hunt them for that reason.

Japan, does NOT depend on whales for survival... it is simply a very profitable venture for a source of luxury food.

we used to keep slaves. we LEARNED how not to. ;)
Irrelevant.

is beef banned or something?
No, but how often do you thank the cow for its sacrifice to sustain your life which you value so dearly?

The native Alaskans do it on every kill... that is the greatest quality of humanity, the respect for that which is sacrificed to sustain life... people were all like that at one point during history.

It is sad that most have lost that part of of their humanity.

Since you left the wonderful comment on the neg. rep,

I will admit my tone is intended to be condescending towards those who've lost that part of their humanity... this world does not need people like that.

If you consider it to be rude as well as you indicated, perhaps you should attempt to rediscover that piece of your humanity... then you will not be offended at my truths.

However, I am not, and never was at any point in this conversation 'pissy'... at least not as a personal feeling.

I am just as strong about supporting my opinions and the reasons behind them as you are, my human brother.

this has nothing to do with me and you. at least not to me.

it's about the killing of whales.

If they had another source of food that would sustain them as long as a whale, I'm sure they would go after that... whaling is NOT easy for them.

If the whale lovers can get away with throwing cocktails on the japanese boats then couldn't the japanese blow them up from self defense?

You know how things went the last time the Japanese started blowing stuff up.

;-)

Don't think they want to relive that.
