The worlds best leaders

Fortune compiled a list of the worlds best leaders.

Pope Francis was first, and German Chancelor Merkel was number two.

Probably would have been my two picks had I given it thought prior to reading theirs.

What was interesting to me is Obama was not on the list, with his lead from behind philosophy.

Can you imagine a similar list compiled in 2008 or 9 without Obama in the top spot? My oh my how his reputation around the world has fallen since we got to actually learn about him.

Who do you think is on there and shouldn't be, or should be and isn't?

Yes, German conservatives are communists. More keen political observations from the forum child molester.

Just another thing you have in common with the pope.

I think without doubt the new pope should be number one. He has started leading the church of Rome down a modern path, which might save it's future in Europe.

I picked Merkel because she is leading the strongest economy in Europe. Really no other reason.

Putin might really be the best.

I guess the best point is that our president has lost the value of the unknown, now the whole world knows he sucks.

Leaders is not the term I would use. People that "lead" thru coercive tactics should be properly referred to as overseers or masters.

People that lead in fact, have people follow their ideas rather than their crown, their title or their gun.

Did you forget your boy george:

“I promise you I will listen to what has been said here, even though I wasn’t here.” Sadly this was said at the President’s Economic Forum in Waco, Texas, August 2002, seems like a place a president should be paying attention. Wonder where exact George W. Bush thought he was that day, truly a quote to be embarrassed of.

“You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test.” and “Is our children learning?” are two quotes that actually raise concern. Obviously our schools need more assistance if the president of the United States cannot form a couple proper sentences, which were ironically about education.

“The same folks that are bombing innocent people in Iraq were the ones who attacked us in America on September the 11th.” George W. Bush announced this in Washington D.C. July 2007. Shocking to hear the president admit an attack on his own country, George corrected this statement immediately and as he should have been was embarrassed.

“Do you have blacks too?” America should be partially embarrassed for this since it was said to the Brazilian President Fernando Cardoso in 2001. Not only is this question unbelievably racist it is also incredibly ignorant. George W. Bush should not only be embarrassed by this question, but also ashamed he ever asked it all.

“They misunderestimated me” it was in Bentonville Arkansas that George W. Bush said this. Who knew that the president had the authority to make up words on the spot? Not only is misunderestimated not a word, but it is a double negative. Therefore George Bush should be double embarrassed for this quotation.

“I just want you to know that when we are talking about war, we’re really talking about peace” said in Washington D.C. June 2002. Really, what kind of backwards logic is that? Apparently foreign disputes and people dying is part of peace. George W. Bush should be embarrassed by this quote as well.

Bush definitely made some speaking gaffes. He is not alone.

Obama: "... it is just wonderful to be back in Oregon, and over the last 15 months we've traveled to every corner of the United States. I've now been in fifty .... seven states? I think one left to go. One left to go. Alaska and Hawaii, I was not allowed to go to even though I really wanted to visit but my staff would not justify it." (Damn dude. You just said we have 60 states!)

Clinton: "It depends on what the meaning of the words 'is' is."(really? Wow)

Bush 1:"For seven and a half years I've worked alongside President Reagan. We've had triumphs. Made some mistakes. We've had some sex...uh...setbacks." (Fucking hilarious. I didn't know Reagan swung that way)

Reagan: During a South American trip, Reagan concluded the Brazilian leg of it be saying "I'd like to thank President Figueiredo and all the people of Bolivia". When it was pointed out that he was in Brazil, not Bolivia, he said "Sorry, we're going there next"...... but he wasn't!(already getting the Alzheimer's apparently)

Carter: I see nothing wrong with ethnic purity being maintained.(oh snap he's racist!)

Ford: There is no Soviet domination of Eastern Europe.(ahahahahahaha)

Nixon: I am not a crook.(yeah right. You're a politician, not much difference)

So go make fun of Bush jr hilarious gaffes. It proves nothing about education or anything really.

I think he is alone in that there are books about his.
and almost every one of the quotes in those "bushisms" books is bullshit.

"so who are these people?" ~Vice President Al Gore at Mt Vernon, looking at busts of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin... real quote, real dumb.

"No Controlling Legal Authority" ~VP Gore on why taking chinese govt campaign donations is kosher

"mars has canals, and where there are canals there is water, and where there is water, we can breathe! we must colonize mars..." ~VP Gore on space travel

al gore has more dumb comments (even without his eco-lunacy) than both bushes combined.

merckel is a "conservative" because thats what her party calls itself.

Protip: Democrats dont actually espouse democracy (though Republicans do support the republic...), members of the Labour Party may not actually have ever performed real labour in their lives, the Democratic People's Republic Of Korea is not Democratic, has no interest in the People, is not a Republic, and considering all this, i'm not sure if i can believe they really are Korean...

Yeah, Bush misspoke some. He had a tendency to "makeup" words. People criticize him for making up words. So what? How did the English language (or any other language) get here? When man evolved and made it to the British Isles were there scrolls of words there that was to be the English language?

I don't think the "misundestimated" is a misspoken word. They under estimated him, and were wrong about it. I think language can be used as a tool to get a point across. A lot of what bush said, if you take a second look at it, add context and a weird sense of humor to it, might be considered witty.

Even if that isn't the case, so what? I guess you, and anybody you admire has ever made an error in speech. Obama has made many, there is even a thread on this forum about him misspelling the word "r(e)spect." He was speaking at a Mo-town themed function to boot, about a song, "r-e-s-p-e-c-t... Find out what it means to me."

I remember the non stop bashing of Dan Quayle, and still hear about it to this day how he misspelled "potato(e)" he added the e. Obama forgot the e. Yet it was hardly mentioned.

Bush has had a very successful life, and if you study it, you would see he did not ride on his fathers coat tails, at least no where near as much as someone could have, to achieve what he did. There is no way that W. is a dumb person.
