Think these babies are ready?

New to this and have 18 plants that are 20-21 days old from seed and wanting to shoot for an ounce per plant average. I know it depends on many factors, but if all went well, can a plant this size yield an oz dry if put into 12/12 now? They average about 6 inches tall andIMG_20161118_084514.jpg IMG_20161118_085023.jpg IMG_20161118_084859.jpg about 6 nodes with shoots starting a week ago and coming from each node except the newest set of leaves. Wanting to get these to a size where you can look at it and easily assume they'll pull an oz per. all have been transplanted a bit late and will be transplanting again in a few days to 2 gallon pots. So actually will be about week when I'll be hoping to start 12/12. Thoughts?

grow them out some more and begin topping to grow it wider rather than taller, when you have about 6-8 really solid looking branches/future colas, trim the rest off and send it into flower. also, are they in soil and how strong is your light?

I've been considering topping them but maybe bending instead to stress them less and keep everything going fast. They are in soil right now. Well, peat moss, vermiculite, worm castings with epsoma dry organic fertilizer half strength mixed in. Using about 250 watts of CFL right now and upping to about 375 by tomorrow. I have a. 1000 watt HP's to flower.

Don't worry about stress. Transplant, top, and veg for a couple more weeks at least and then flip the lights.

Is there a reason you're running the 18 plants? seems like doing half that number and vegging a little longer would be better. what is the footprint of a 1000w hps? you're going to stuff 18 plants in there?

I'm gonna transplant, top and wait for a few weeks to flower. Should I transplant into more veg type mix or into a flowering mix. I mix epsoma dry ferts into the peat, verm and castings and like it. Am going to mix the flower fert into mix for flowering. Even though they'll be vegging still for a few weeks when I transplant, should this be into a flower mix or do I transport again as I go into 12/12

Honestly, I've seen and heard of plants jammed together way more tightly in a smaller space then what I'm working with in sog/scrog. Why are you acting like I'm overflowing a closet? Lol. I plan to flower before they get over 10 inches and have a 3×9 closet. These are reg seeds, not fem, so I'll end up with maybe 9-10 girls if I'm lucky. Maybe only 5. Who knows. They have tight nodes and shoots are going good. About to space them more and throw more lights of them. Plenty of light on canopy and bottoms of plants. Seem to be doing just fine and getting plenty of light. Why not do 18 if I can provide the light to give the quality growth I'm getting? Granted, they aren't the best plants but I've seen much worse from experienced growers.

I'm not acting like anything, was just curious. you can grow 18 plants in a 3x3 with a cfls if you want. doesn't make it a good idea. hope you get more females than males!

I have a 3×9 ft area and the CFL equal around 8000 lumens a square foot and are inches from plants. They are staying short with right nodes and a secondary growth coming along at a good rate when comparing to others. They may veg for another two weeks or three and then flower.

I'm honestly scared to get a high male ratio and wanted to have some smoke to last a while. That's why I planted so many. I figured to keep them small before flowering so that the light could penetrate good and I had good amount of plants to work with. I hate the idea of tossing some out and them maybe being females and keeping males. Lol. Make sense? Your right that I'd get better light penetration with less plants and spaced more but I fear getting mostly males.

Short answer Is no if you leave them like that and flip now you probably would hit 14g per plant. Follow some of others suggestions and up pot them and either top or do some lst on them. Veg longer then flip you will be glad you did
