Thinking about greenhouse grow

Hi I'm thinking about buying the 8' x 8' Palram Glory Greenhouse for my backyard this spring to save on electricity because I'm a Illinois medical marijuana card holder & home owner..

I was wondering, do you think this greenhouse will work for a spring & summer months backyard grow? Oh & also is the 8' x8' only big enough for 2 good size plants or more..?

I was only planning on probably only growing 2 plants in the greenhouse anyway.

This is exact greenhouse package I'm thinking about buying

Thanks in advance

Autos can't be the only thing that's best to grow in a greenhouse is it? I think Autos suck. I hate them, so I hope that's not the case anyway. Nonetheless, if that is the case & autos are the best option. I just won't buy a greenhouse to begin with, if that's the case anyhow

Na mate, you can grow anything you want in a greenhouse, some strains perform better than others so maybe a bit of research will put you on the right track, good luck

I have an 8 x10 all glass greenhouse and was considering using it for at least 1 plant this year. I am allowed 4 plants. I usually only start my plants there and move them outside for the summer. You are in ILL and I am in S Ontario. So climate could be close.

I built my own greenhouse and it is working very well for me. I've got an evaporative cooler, bunch of fans, extraction fan and a dehumidifier to help control the environment. Also using a blumat irrigation system with a 60L reservoir which makes life much easier and the plants love it. Going to see how it handles a winter grow as well later on this year.

That is a good quality greenhouse, 10mm thick laminate is way above average, Im curious why they gave it a 20lb snow load limit though that is extremely low.

I would say that is a good size for 2 plants, but $2grand for 2 plants is a big investment. A $100 hoophouse will be just as effective, just not as pretty

20210207-154922.pngWhat's up guys, just seen the post.. if you don't mind, I'm thinking of starting a green house as well, what kind of plastic do you recommend to conceal what's inside? How good are those green plastic ones off Amazon? Thanks... Something like this.

I bought one the beginning of summer and it was cool until the sun starts going down at that point it looked like I literally spray painted black pot plants on it because of the silhouettes on it.
Then a hurricane came through and blew the fucker away!!

Would do you recommend? Will it conceal the plants from the air? Or would I need thicker plastic?

You can sometimes find old carport frames on craigslist for $50. They sell clear replacement covers for $200-$300 online. Makes a dandy 10x20 greenhouse.....they work well best of luck

Neighbors has had a large shelter logic, hoop frame, carport laying next to his new one for 2 years now. They are out there. Most just oxidizing. Willing to inquire for anyone within local pick up distance. Best wishes to all.

I have 10'x20' shelter logic. Not suggesting to any. I'm not happy with quality. But opaque covering works very well to obstruct view until lit from inside.

Allow plenty of space between plants. And buy twice the CFM total of fans you think will work. Almost 4000 CFM in my set up just controls temps and humidity in the heat and wet of summer here.

You cannot see thru these replacement greenhouse carport covers. Very heavy duty. I have one I have used for over 5 years....

thanks for this link! a friend was asking for help setting up a greenhouse this summer and I couldn't find anything this quality. but even better since I'm cheap I looked and just found a used 6x8 version on CL for $225! looks brand new and already disassembled. I am just waiting on a callback and we are going to go grab it.
