Third Grow but first Ebb and Flow

Hey all, happy holidays!

Wanted to get some feedback from you expert Ebb and Flow / Flood and Drain systems users.

I've gotten all of my supplies in order (hydron, flood tray, flood and drain parts, pumps, nutrients (fox farm), 4" rock wool cubes, starter plugs, 6" square ports (will be filled with hydron and have one cube in it), light and flood timers, a couple of airstones and 400 MH/HPS in a 6x6x7 grow tent).

my question revolves around flooding and the use of rock wool cubes. since rock wool holds quite a bit of water, how often should I flood / drain?

The easy answer is 3 to 4 times aday. Some will say feed with lights on. But I do 4 feedings 6 hours apart 15 min floods and don't worry about if lights are on or off. Works fine for me. You might want to fully cover rock wool so it dosnt turn green on you. But if your going from your cloning try to hydroton use 1 inch cubes then straight to hydroton. No need to use 3-4 inch cubes unless your going to veg them for a few weeks without placing them in the system.

Thanks for the reply. My thinking was to put the plugs into the rockwool after a week in the cloner but I'm starting from deemed first. Once the roots come out from the plugs then I'll move to rockwool and try your schedule. I'm going with 10 plants under 400w in my tent. I'll germinate the seeds next week and hope to have everything set up by the first week of 2012.

Just put your rockwool cube into the hydroton, i flood every 3rd hour for 15 minutes, my plant loves it.
