Seriously man, that's a really idiotic thing to say. What do you really know about AIG? Know anybody in the insurance business? I've got news for you, they're not all rich, nor or they all white. Your statement screams ignorance. Many of the people that work for insurance companies don't even have college degrees! They're salesmen, that's it. The people that manage their finances and assests are the ones to blame here. And btw, there are plenty of wealthy do nothing's at GM!
You misunderstood me completely. I never said that all the people at AIG were white, I used the term 'white-collar' to describe them meaning that they don't do any hard physical labor, wear a suit, tie and a WHITE COLLARED shirt to work each day. I was also referring to the executives and not the people who work in the lower tiers. And the 'wealthy do nothings' at GM make far less than any of the people at AIG. Far, FAR less.

You've made yourself look like an ass for taking things out of context and jumping up on your soapbox for some perceived wrong in what I said. Either learn the subtleties of the English language or butt the fuck out.

I bet you were a salesman. You're about as articulate and intelligent as I expect them to be.

All I can say is that yesterday morning when Obama told him to resign, our government crossed a very important line. No longer are they socialist, that is the very definition of fascism. Welcome to the Socialist States of America

What's really galling is that nothing Obama is doing has the authority of the Constitution behind it. The sad part is, other than a majority of liberty lovers, no one seems to care.

If anyone is in doubt about this, read the 10th Amendment.

Wrong Dr. Greenz... It's Socialist

It's also Fascism

Of which there are nary any differences.

Characteristic of Fascism is the pseudo-appearance of private control of corporations, while the government actually dictates wages, salaries, bonuses, pay, prices, costs, etc.

Versus Socialism which doesn't maintain the facade.

Fascism is the German take on Socialism...

:: shrugs ::

There's a book by Mises that addresses this issue, I don't have the title on hand, but I can get it. Actually just read it. It has something to do with Bureaucracy Management vs Capitalism Management of Economic Systems.

Interesting read...

There was no line crossed, Obama is just living DOWN TO THE EXPECTATIONS SET FOR HIM.

How... unsurprising...

Yes, the auto industry was on the fast track to wealth and prosperity for all of America until Obama stepped in to ruin it.

Sweet Jesus kid. These companies are so fucked right now that the only choice is to cover them over with dirt and see if they can't take down our entire economy OR America steps in and tries to salvage something.

Eight years of horrifically failed economic policy has left us in a spot where we need to make some very hard choices. None of which are very appealing.

I have a perfectly appealing alternative

All the companies that were failing are allowed to fail

and the government declares a moratorium on Payroll taxes for two years (~$1.6 Trillion) or four years (~$3.2 Trillion)

Now, there'd be real economic stimulus.

And the benefit would be primarily focused on those making less than $100,000/year (the cut off for SS Taxes)

The State is ran by idiots...

That's the long and the short of it, really. No matter what choices we make... it's going to suck for awhile no matter what.

Strange, I thought we were supposed to be more worried about what is in the Constitution as to opposed what's on it.

Speaking of what's on it though. Shit, from all the politicians using it to wipe their ass...

Something is rotten in the Country of the United States...

Can you not smell the stench of D.C.'s interference anywhere you go?

Did any of you see the senator from Minnesota dress down the Secretary of the Treasury? It was great, she kept asking Geithner from where in the Constitution did he get the authority to confiscate executive bonuses. He looked like a totally stupid ass ... and because he couldn't answer the question, he kept trying to skirt around it ... and she kept nailing him to the cross. Loved it!
