well... its day 36 and i think i have a problem again... woke up to the lower fan leaves turning a lighter green almost yellow... i gave her some food yesterday...( 10-10-4)... not sure if this is ok... they were just food spikes and i know i probly shouldnt use them... but its all i have right now...
pict0006.jpg

pic is a little fuzzy... but here is one of the leaves
pict0001.jpg
is it a problem i should worry about? maybe a nute burn or deficiency, or is it just the natural cycle of the plant dying off? a little early for that though isnt it? should i flush her and start again with better nutes? whats best way to flush her? ( alot of questions from one problem)

also the branch leaves are looking a little wilty...

room temps are around 85-87 during day and 75-77 at night... ph still unknown ( i know i have to fix that... going to store tomorrow if i can).

any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

heyy man. wow.. ur lil plant is coming along nicely for what u have. =) lookin good. adn yeaa it might be nute burn.. i wouldnt worry about it too much tho.. so far with all my grows... i always lose a few of the lower leaves... they turn light green.. then yellow.. adn then fall off. idk why.. but thye do. lol. adn mine always turn out fine. keep up the good work man. =)

well i dont see her getting any worse... i have given her just about all the water i dare for now... dont wanna drown her... shes doing ok... doesnt seem to be getting any more yellow.. just what was already there. gonna hold off on the food for a couple days and then take it nice and slow...lol... a little bit swollen in the littler leaves but i think thats just from the watering...

i will put a couple pics up later...

now one question... should i cut off the yellowing leaves or just leave them till they fall off on their own?
i would assume that she would use the leaves still weather they are damaged or not... what do u guys suggest?

yeaa, i wouldnt worry about the leaves.. towards te end of flower.. i cut off any big fan leaves.. and leave only the small ones.. adn that way more light gets to the bud sites... now... b4 people start yellin and givin me shit.. this is a personal preference.. adn have had no bad results by doing this... u can look at my avatar and see my plant... it did fine.. i got over 3 ounces from a 3 week vegg adn 8 week flowered WW plant with only CFL's.. soo u cant tell me that trimming the big fan leaves is bad adn will kill ur plant.. lol

honestly.. its more or less up to you if u want to trim them off.. its a personal preference.. sum people will say yes.. and that it will let more light to ur buds.. and keep te leaves from rottin and attracting bugs....

otheres will tell u NO.. that theres still nutes in there.. adn its still absorbing sunlight and it will stress the plant out...

soo basically.. its up to you.. like i said about 6 weeks into flowering i cut all my big fan leaves off.. not all at once.. a few every day.. but i also cut off some during the begining of flowering if i think they're blocking to many bud sites.. i've trimmed about 10 fan leaves already.. and have had no bad results...

soooo its up to you man. =) in my opinion.. i would cut it off

i appreciate that idea... i have also had success outdoors with the same method... but wasnt sure if it was advisable indoors with cfl's... thanx

Likely a nute burn, if the yellowing is unifor from the bottom up ya need more N if its from the bottom up and from the tips moving inward its a burn. And don't remove ur fan leaves. Ur bud sites are not what need the light, its your fane leaves. Lookin damn good my friend especiall only being in what 20-40 bucks? Killin it!

Killer man. I'm actually jealous. I wish my first wouldve been so cheap plush and smooth. Lol. I sounded vague in my last post though. Remove fan leaves if they're ove 50% dead as at that point the plant tends to stop focusing on growth and more on repairing its leaves. Up to 2 weeks before flower ill remove without much discretion but in flower the fan leaves are you future yield the less you have the less you get. Hope that made sense had a heady rush of mendo purps mid sentence and kinda came to about the beginning of this sentence lol

i remember when i first strated out with CFL's... (LOL) Never Again... but looking good .. FYI that yellowing is not nute burn or is it lack of N... it's Over watering ... at this stage of flowering it should not be yellowing ... looks like it's at the early stages of flowering...heres my Kushberry the day of harvest... yellowing started 5 days before i harvestedPicture 081.jpg

^^^ He was only a couple of days into flower, it was nute burn for sure. It could be linked to overwatering if you are using that time release fert soil. Pruning or not really just becomes an aesthetics question, as you probably wont see a difference in growth either way. I usually take crappy looking leaves off just because I like my plants to look nice. But it honestly does not make a difference.
