Im going to be growing in soil for the first time my soil of choice is "Biobizz light mix" the EC is 1.2 & PH is 6.1-6.3.
Now what I dont understand is why do we have to PH the water to approx 6.5 when the soils PH is 6.1-6.3, if we aim for 6.5 shouldnt the water be PHed to the difference of the soils & desired PH range?
Same question for the EC.
Is this how salt buildup occurs?

Sorry cant help bro...i grow in soil as well and my ph is 6.5 -7 and i never check anymore everything is cool. Soil is super forgiving and not as critical as hydro...my opinion.

Good luck respect any pics

Do you check your EC/PPM before watering or do you simply go by dosage in millilitres?

Just add garenlime to the mix,if it does'nt have any in it........I don't check the ph...Just don't over do it with the ferts, and you'll be fine....

dude i have no idea what your trying to say , its simple tho u want your soil roughly 6.5 -7.0 if its to low add dolomite lime /garden lime , if its to high add sulphur powder or baking soda

Im just wondering what the point is in PHing water before its watered in soil when the soil already is at a steady PH range?

The point of it would be to keep your PH level where it is, if you don't do anything to it you are adding water that has a PH of 7 and therefore diluting your acidity making it closer to 7. If you want to keep it more acidic that 7 you may need to PH your water - I think. Lol, it just makes sense.

Ok thanks fellas for your input maybe Ill try a comparison one without PH one with PHed to 6.5 foe the entire grow & see the results. Thanks again.
