thought 1 plant was fucked

well heres the haps..1 of my plants had fallen threw its hole an fell into its dwc resivor...i had left for work at 915 am an returned at almost 10pm so somewhere in that massive time frame my plant was compleatly submerged..well i found the plant fixed the problem an just put it back up..now the plant is compleatly fine nothing happened..now this makes me wonder more about my therey that i could acclimate a strain to produce an grow compleatly underwater....just thought i'd throw that out there..peace

personally, i think this is impossible. the plant would not be able to regulate itself properly if it were submerged. most notably, it wouldn't be able to aspirate with it's stomata underwater and would probably drown if left under there for a few days. not only that, but you would have to find a way to dissolve both oxygen and carbon dioxide into the water which would most likely not be economically feasible. just my $1.05 though.

well the oxgen is taken of as i grow dwc bubblers with 2 pumps per system..an for the co2 they make tabs for plants that live in aquraimins you just throw it in the water an it works like alka seltzer they also make nutes desgined for under water plants...i now know if i ever get a bad bug problem im just gonna submerge the plant for a few hours...peace

i just don't see this working. your buds would be destroyed when the plant flowered (see bud rot). also, i don't think the plant would be able to photosynthesize properly if it were completely submerged, as water refracts light making your light extremely inefficient.

well thc isn't water soluable an the bud rot is from hot humid enviro's underwater i think would be avoid of this....like i said their just thoughts an no one would know shit about growing if some guy didn't try it first...peace

well thats one of the ideas..you would also elimanate bugs like mites an gnats...i think it could work but you would defently need small indi plants for this an building something to house a 6 foot sativa may be a little chanlgeing...but i think there is something to it...peace

As far as i know you cannot completely submerge cannabis if you do it dies even in oxygenated water and because it is highly likely that a lot of the resin and thc is produced to keep the leaves moist and protect the plant even if you managed it the weed would be weak due to constantly being wet.

The best course of action would be to try to cross breed cannabis with an aquatic plant and hope that you could somehow pass the genetics to make thc into the naturally aquatic underwater plant but i still think that even if you achieved this the stuff would only be good for thc extraction and never for smoking like you would some normal weed.

On the upside though you could plant tons of it underwater and not get arrested and than make a shit load of thc extractions so even if the plants only produced 5% thc it would still pan out,you could grow them in rivers etc. and no one would even know lol
