Thoughts on these brands of growing equipement?

Just wanting to get an idea of what i might be purchasing. What do you guys think about the following brands:


Mercury 6 Hood
Sun Lite hps/mh switchable Ballast
Saber Lamps bulb (choice of MH or HPS)


Whats known about these brands? Negatives, positives, general reputation? Thank you, appreciate your input.

No one? This is worrisome.

All seem sufficient to me. As far as your reflector goes, make sure it has tempered glass for heat purposes. I'm not familiar with saber lamp bulbs so I can't really comment on them too much. IMO it is worth it to spend the extra money on bulbs that have a higher lumen output and broader spectrum.

Thank you for the reply Smokebros. Well the owner of the store im getting it from gave me a deal of 150 per unit which includes ballast, hood, bulb...all for 150 bucks total. Worth it? I did some researching on the brands and cant find anything on them. Not the ballast, not the hood, not the bulb. Which is what had me concerned...wanted to see if anyones heard of them or not and whats their reputation like (the brands that is).

Saber bulb review.

Don't buy! I bought 4, bulbs are usually broken 25% of the time. Other than that they're fine.

I'm not saying it's their quality it could just be their shipping or packaging department, but something's definitely wrong.they seem to be packaged very well, which is my vendors work.

I got for initially in one bulb was broken, so they sent me out a replacement in that was broken and another replacement and that was broken so now I'm waiting for my third replacement or 7th bulb for four lights lol
