So it's coming up 5 weeks tmr since these have been in flower. Ive been looking pictures up of week 5 bud and I look like I'm at like 3.5-4 weeks into flower. Should I not be counting the stretch period it stretched for about a week and a half.
Just wanna know where I'm at

I've been doing alot of defoliating the last few days and I read that can bring your plant a few days behind to a week behind

I don’t start counting from the switch to 12/12 as flowering but when the buds start forming. I would guess your about 2-3 weeks in, but there’s lots of factors. Just go with how the plant grows, it’s fine to count weeks for a general idea but it’s generally going to be a few weeks longer than the advertised length anyhow.

Okay, yeah I wasn't gonna base when they are done on the weeks I just wanted to kinda just know where I'm at. I was thinking I shouldn't count the first few weeks for stretch. But I was making sure so thanks

Honestly, don't worry about the weeks. When you start off and worry about the weeks you tend to harvest early. The plant doesn't have a calendar and will be done when it's done. Focus more on the maturity of the buds than the number of weeks you've been in 12/12.

It's always been the day they were flipped ime.
Others are welcome to make their own terms but for the sake of a common language in a forum let's keep it the day you flip.

Okay, yeah I've been seeing people harvest pretty early and I do not want to be one of them lol. It's my first grow so just trying to get all the info I can. Thanks

No worries, you're plants look great. Keep it up. I'd probably ask what people think in another month or so, you'll be getting closer to harvest.

Thanks and will do I know they probably won't be ready till about Christmas or around there. But I'm excited and taking my time. Man is it hard to wait
It is, but a few things to keep in mind. The weed you buy has already been dried and shrunk down from its ripe, wet, plumpness. A lot of people will look at the plant and say "Hey, those look to be the same size as what I typically buy, the plant MUST be ready". Then they chop it down, dry it too fast, and are disappointed on the yield and the racy high.
The other thing is, the plant will reward your patience.

Okay yeah that's true I haven't seen to much fresh bud in person. So I won't know till after this time. Ill wait as long as the plant can go to chop

Every strain is diff. A plant of mine vs a plant of yours or anyone else's for that matter, with diff genetics (can) will look diff at the same time stamp. Instead of worrying about weeks, figure out what week is 9 of flower. Then when that week hits you can make a better decision on how long you have left. Plant will finish when it wants to finish. So many factors determine the flowering time, so to set a number to follow religiously is just silly.

Okay yeah, that makes sense every one's plant can look diff even if it's the same strain. And will do I'm not really gonna try to count weeks any more just gonna keep it healthy
