Three seedlings in one DWC pot?

I have these three seedlings in pic. I have one DWC bucket with big net pot. Any ideas? Also, when I place whatever in net pot, should I put new rock wool cube under seedling cube or just fill with ceramic balls?image.jpg

Take the best one and give it the pot?
im a little nervous I might kill it. Managed to kill some germs on transplant. Would rather triple my chances I think... Grew once in college with dirt. Really have no clue. Thinking I’ll spread them out on edges of pot. I have one pot in a 24”x24”x48” tent. Hoping I can prune for bushy. Maybe throw some rock wool cubes in bottom of net pot, then my three guys and fill the middle with ceramic beads. Not sure on more rock wool vs more beads.

Those f'n pails totally suck for stand-alone DWC ! You only get 3 gal of nutes in there and have to constantly be messing with pH and PPMs.

Fine for a RDWC system but I've used RubberMaid tubs since 2001 to grow up to 16 plants in one tub and only have to top up and check things every 3 days. I've done 50 grows like that and go the whole grow and never change nutes using RO water and AN pH Perfect nutes.

Never having to worry about pH is a huge save.

Thank you all. Roots are 2+ “ out of cubes, no tub handy. Will transplant to what I have. No more rock wool, thanks for that. Will post progress.

So the problems that you will face down the road. A lot of roots in that small bucket. If by chance one of your seeds is male it will mess everything up as you can’t just remove it and all it’s roots. PH will be impossible to balance as you’ll have more roots then water in that small pail. Spend the $20 on a tote and more net pots. The pH stability alone is worth the extra$.
Good luck.

Some bad things happened, including lifting the rock wool cube....almost off the top of the plant. And I didn’t have the tub, water, air setup yet. If they survive this ordeal, they are blessed plants indeed.

However, Operation Threes Company is underway!!

Thank you for the tub suggestions. More water volume makes great sense, better to buffer my next bonehead moves!

I’m not sure how I feel about separating them by the time the tub comes.. Maybe I’ll make one hole in the middle for the net pot holding the triplets.

Wow! They survived and look bigger already. I think the light green highlights on the edges of the leaves are because the lights are too close. Low power lights for now, switching to LED/COB soon. Don’t want to shock them more than I already have. image.jpg

This is exactly what happened. Switched to tub and things got much more stable.
