Thrips...

Hey guys, just found a thrip on the same plant I posted a thread about . The plant is probably a week away from being finished and I just found a thrip last night. I ordered some spinosad off Amazon that will be coming in a couple hours and was wondering what my procedure should be. The infestation doesnt seem to be large yet but I'm sure it will be soon. I currently have 12 plants in a 8' x 12' shed and will be spraying every leaf tops and bottoms down before lights off tomorrow. In the mean time I was wondering if you guys think I should do a pretty decent size defoliation of my plants today so that they are ready to be sprayed tomorrow? I have a couple of different strains and one of them is very bushy so i bet the majority are inside of that plant. This will be my first time battling these little fuckers and Unfortunately all of the plants are in flower as well, thanks guys.

I wouldn't spray them if almost done. Thrips don't multiple too fast and I've flowered with them lots of times. Just soak the top inch or two of soil to kill a bunch of the larvae and that should last you to finish

Thanks for the reply Gem. That a relief it just annoys me I even have them in the first place as I sealed the shed as best as I could but oh well! I should of mentioned that I am growing ebb and flow with hydroton in 5 gallon pots. Are thrips known to burrow inside or below hydroton?

I'm not sure I'm in coco but I'd assume they'd stay mostly on the plant then.. You sure they're thrips? Little orangish worms leaving the shiny trails and poop dots? You can pluck or wipe fan leaves with diluted alcohol that have a bunch on it. I rotate green cleaner to knock em down then spinosad to kill the hiding ones (not in flower)

Yeah little brownish or orange oval suckers that are leaving shiny crusty stuff and black poop dots on my plants :( I've only managed to see one so far and it crawled into a nug when I started touching the leaf. I will probably wipe the individual leaves with the solution I make so It doesn't make too much contact with the nugs..

If you only have a few you're good till the end and if you aren't doing perpetual then they will all die after you harvest.
