Tie down material?

there is this special tie down stuff i say at home depot the other day. It like a twisty tie but i had a thick rubber insulator instead. made for tomatoes i think.
 
I use wire but you have to be careful or you can choke the plant with it like he said

but i just use a thick material, like twine, hemp, etc. thin ones can chop your plant in half.

best method i've seen is to put a rubberband or 2 around the container and feed the ends of a loop of yarn through it, very easy to adjust on the fly and no untying.
 
....unfortunatley, the width of my space is a bit constricting. Now that I've tied em all down I can barely move anything without almost breaking branches. eek. gonna have to take out the cabinet they sit on and partially rebuild my panda tent.
