Time to flip to flower or too early?!

Hey all

Generally new to growing and am wondering if it is still too early to flip these girls (Strawnana) or do you think it’s time?

I just added the scrog net and spread it out as best I can. Also was using LST clips during veg.

They have been in veg for about 6 weeks (excluding time it took to root the clones and take hold).

I have plenty of height left in the grow tent so I’m not worried about the stretch vertically.

Running Sunshine #4 with Gaia Green fertilizer. Also added small amount of microbial tea (Heisenberg recipe). Running a Geekbeast Pro light currently at 70% at a height of 24”. They were under T5s in another space so didn’t want to blast them at 100% out of the gate. Will gradually increase over the coming days.

Cheers

I’ve tried topping multiple times before and did well but had a lot of smaller buds. I was hoping for larger buds but not as many.

Pretty much strain related
More light allows for stronger feeding
But I assume you are running the same strain looking for a different result

Exactly. Last grow I had too much side branching IMO. Mostly due to topping multiple times. Just hoping I can get fatter buds this time around. My thought is less tops, the more energy the plant will put into the tops I have. However, it could just be the way the strain develops. Guess I’ll have to wait and see. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I would give them another week at first glance. Sometimes say I'm nearing the 1st of the month I'll flip them then if I'm feeling feisty or if I know I'm working with a stretchy strain.

The less tops the larger the overall size of the buds on the plant will be. Topping reduces the size of the buds every time you do it. This is why I started doing mainline training where I only top the plant a few times..

I appreciate the feedback. That’s what I’d prefer. Also much easier come harvest time I’d imagine. Even though I lollipop it, there was too many Larry buds with all that branching. I’ll have to try mainline training next grow! Cheers

First off. nice set up! Net looks great! I'd flip! You may want to consider a second net at they stretch for 3-4 weeks.
It is important when using Gaia Green to not forget your Humic/Fulvic acids and microbes/bacterials. This will help the biology in the root zone work with your roots and help breakdown the NPK as needed. All of these additional mentions help as transporters to break down these nutes and get them to your plant. Monosilic acid is the smallest from of silica and is bio available to be uptaken by your plants as well as helps with stress and nutrient uptake. Don't forget worm castings. they do wonders with organics.

Not defoliating properly in bloom can also cause airy small buds at the lower end of the canopy. I've started stripping branches all the way to the tips on day of flip then I strip the big fan leaves off day 20-21 of bloom. Haven't had better results.

Thanks for the comments. I’m glad you said that. I started brewing a tea yesterday (which involves worm castings). Will give to plants tomorrow. Also, I have a small bottle of GH Floralicious Plus that hasn’t been used. Would that be good enough for humid/fulvic acids or do you recommend something else?
