Time to jar?

Ok so I just harvested and it's been 7 days hang dry and my buds are dry on the outside but moist in the middle. Now in the past I would wait until the stem snaps (NOT completely off) and then jar. But I would end up with 55 or lower percent humidity in the jar and the taste and smell just awful. So this time I took a bud off of the hanging plant and smoked it in a joint and it taste great (night and day difference from before) my question is should I jar them now or wait a couple more days? I don't want this smell and taste go away like it has in the past

With temps in the 60’s. The goal with drying before jaring is to start around 60% RH on day one. And with each passing two days you decrease the RH 5%. By day 7 you should be around 45% RH while maintain a cool environment in the 60s temp wise. The reason you slowly lower the rh is to draw the moisture out from the middle of the bud to dry evenly and properly. If you jar too early you increase your chances of creating an environment for mold at which point you don’t want to smoke it at all. It’s better to be drier than wetter when jaring. I personally would give it another 3 days. What I’m saying isn’t the only way to do it. It’s just a little advice. Show us some pics of your harvest? Congrats by the way!

Once the buds feel crispy while hanging, I cut them off and put them all in one container.

The trick now is to put hygrometers in the container to keep track of the rh. Pack of 5 are ~$20 off amazon.

More info in my signature...

Cheers

I have invested in some...I put some in the jars and it rose to 80 percent over night

The buds shouldn't be jarred until they are crispy but not DRY.
Jarring moist weed will allow anaerobic growth like mold.
I don't think any weed is ready to be jarred in 7 days unless it was force dried or dried way too fast, I dry hang for 14-15 days and still let the buds sit out after trim before I seal them off.
