Anyone else ever used this method? It's much easier than lst or using nets. Wait until vertical growth has stopped then tip the plants on there side.

It will probably work, but topping is far less of a hassle.

you could also tie the plant down aka lst, or brake the stem down aka supercropping.

Had a friend back in the day that used to do this in a long narrow hallway that was in back of his house. could access it from both sides but too narrow to put plants in and get around them. so a 5 gallon bucket at one end and some pig fence grid thing as the scrog. as it grew he just wove the branches into the screen, once it was long enough he flipped to flower. that way he only had to get to the one end to water/feed it.

I've used this method a lot I find it super easy. I grow in soil to water I just stand the pot up for 10 mins then tip back over. It may not be as good as other techniques but it works very well and zero stress. I'm growing some auto's at the moment when the time comes I'll upload a pic.

If you did like the diagram and used milk crates you could just sac your pot and cut a hole in it to water

My next project is a Gatorade DWC. Flushing the last 2 weeks with clorox to kill the nutrients out of the plant.
You grow in soil to water huh? Can't wait for those pics.

I know that there is plenty of broscience and dumb questions from new growers on this site. This is a legitimate method that maximizes space for some people. I dont get why the hate just because its not something you would do.
as for "soil to water" it took me all of 2.5 seconds to understand he typed "too" and forgot a period. cmon.

I'm not hating on it. You can get equal coverage with less work by using LST and other methods. It's your plant you can do whatever you want with it.

all good, i get it. i also agree what works for one person wont work for everyone. i like to SOG bc I dont like to do any training or topping, and more importantly fuck plant counts, but I accept that not everyone will take the risk.
re this grow from the side/tipping pot vs regular topping/lst/supercropping in my experience adds 1-2 days of veg time every time you do more, due to waiting for the plant to bounce back after training. also if you do a big enough tent, with a normal LST scrog the plant is in the middle and its harder to reach, but this method lets you keep the pot at the entryway.
i just remembered i think theres a thread somewhere on here where someone took a 2x2x5 and vegged it vertically into a scrog net and then flipped the tent on its side and flowered it from the long way to get maximum light coverage to their plant. i will try to find it, dont remember how it turned out.

they vegged it out vertically to the 5' side? then flowered under a 2 foot side? I don't see how that would even work if the sides were reversed. I'd love to see the thread!

even talking it out it isnt making sense now, bc seems like you would need at least 3' to flower, but i swear i read this on here or ILGM forum like 2 yrs ago. gotta make dinner in a few mins but I will look for it later tonight.

I think I invented this technique, check out my grow journal. Is this a good bus per foot ratio? You must start with thenproper container for the whole ‘tip’ part.My mistake is using a regular cloth pot. Hard to water and flush.
